Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 5-9
A happy flower that lasts and lasts! The Becky Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum 'Becky') is the longest-blooming Daisy in the Leucanthemum family! With large, bright white, beautiful ray petals held above its dark green foliage, you can see why the Becky Shasta Daisy was named Perennial of the Year in 2003!
Reaching a height of 3 to 4 feet, the Becky Daisy typically blooms from July to September, and if deadheaded, the blooming time will be extended further into early Fall and increase how many blooms are on the plant! The bright yellow disks in the center are pollinator landing pads as each strong, slender stem reaches up towards the sky!
In comparison to classic Shasta Daisies, Becky maintains larger flowers, with wider petals, atop stronger stems which won't require any staking. The dense clumps of deep green leaves are only about 2 feet wide, making them ideal for any sized garden application! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 through 9, the versatile Daisy is easy to grow, and there is a toughness hidden behind the lovely blooms!
Planting and Application:
Long-lasting Daisies are amazing as cut flowers so be sure to include one in cut flower gardens for your bouquet enjoyment! Both refined and wildflower-like for front yard garden beds and also a fun and youthful addition to a Children's Garden! Daisies are a bright and colorful mailbox garden plant, a small garden specimen and large landscape focal point, and an upgraded classic Cottage border garden plant!
Becky Daisy even works great in seating area mixed planters as a filler and specimen, or as a sunny porch and patio container garden! Any garden becomes a pollinator garden because Daisies are rich in nectar and pollen for all your native and honey bees, butterflies, and even a Hummingbird or two. All stopping by to feast on these sunny blooms!
It also is great for formal and informal gardens, in low-maintenance mass plantings to fill a hillside with fresh color, or in a perennial border as either edging or accent plants. Use in rows or in groupings to best display the effects these perennials lend to your garden beds and borders! The plant becomes even more striking when the Becky Daisy is combined with varieties such as Royal Candles Veronica, Perovskia Russian Sage, or Butterfly Blue Scabiosa.
- Large Bright White Rays & Sunny Yellow Disks

- Longest-Lasting Daisy in the Garden & the Vase!

- Specimen, Accents, Beds, Borders, Edging & Containers
#ProPlantTips for Care:
These hardy, low-maintenance daisies do best when grown in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade (at the cost of the number of blooms), and grow best in well-drained soil. It's recommended to water Becky Daisy plants weekly when rainfall is less than an inch, but they will not tolerate excessive moisture or soggy soil in the winter.
Provide a good layer of mulch, at least 3-4 inches around the roots, especially in drier climates, and enrich the soil with plenty of humus and compost. Remove faded flower heads to encourage more blooms and prune the clumps back in late fall when the foliage yellows. Daisy clumps can be divided every few years to promote better growth and vigor.
- Best in Full Sun
- Moderate Regular Moisture & Appreciates Mulched Beds
- Dislikes Soggy Winter Soil
- Any Type of Well-Drained Organic Soil
- Deadhead For Rebloom & Prune Late Autumn
This low-maintenance perennial is great for first-time gardeners. Becky Daisy will easily add beauty and sunshine to any sunny spot in your garden! Place your order soon for the longest-lasting Daisy blooms around!
