Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 3-9
The lovely elongated petals and nodding blooms, the creamy white Thalia Daffodil (Narcissus 'Thalia') features extended trumpet-shaped centers. These scented spring-flowering perennial bulbs have multiple blooms per stem with curved arched petals and a center with a ruffled edge that rivals a goddess's crown.
Named after the daughter of Zeus and the eighth-born of the nine Muses. This dreamy and unusual Daffodil will become your muse in floral bouquets and forced indoor displays! Outdoors, Daffodils feed bees and butterflies, and even the early arriving hummingbird or two as they buzz from nodding bloom to nodding bloom.
Thalia Daffodils form clumps of slender stems and foliage, naturalizing and colonizing small areas in tidy bunches. A long-lived vintage variety, Thalia is highly adaptable and low-maintenance throughout USDA growing zones 3 - 9 and grows 12-16 inches in height.
Planting and Application:
Sized for mixed planters on the porch or patio, or in mixed planters on balconies, porches and patios in the spring. Also ideal for forcing indoors in a specialized forcing vase or urn of your choice. They're delightful winter gifts and decorations, and make wonderful floral arrangements sure to brighten someone's day!
Thalia Jonquils add vivid pops of spring color, including groupings of these bulbs among perennials and shrubs. Blooming in profusion while other plants are still mulling over emerging. This stunning Daffodil handles moist to dry locations in Rain gardens and Rock gardens alike!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Daffodil bulbs are easy to care for in full sun but appreciate the shade of larger plants that fill in later in the season. Planting depth should be 3 times the height of the bulb and at least 3 inches apart with the pointed end facing upward. They must have well-drained soil and lots of sunshine all growing season. In colder zones, plant deeper and mulch well so they can survive the winter. Add bulb fertilizer to each hole for best results. For indoors, force in a bright yet indicted sun location for the strongest stems and foliage. Prune back the flowers after they fade, and leave the greenery to make food for the bulb. Then after the foliage yellows, you can prune it back to the ground. Store forced bulbs in a cool, dark location.
- Easy to Grow Full Sun
- Moderately Moist Well-Drained Soil
- Deadhead After Bloom, Prune to Ground When Leaves Yellow
- Very Cold Hardy
- Deer & Rodent Resistant
