Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 5-10
What's the latest sensation for butterflies? It may sound like a tasty juice blend from the local supermarket, but the CranRazz™ Butterfly Bush (Buddleia x 'Boscranz') is a butterfly favorite with its fragrant and vibrant blooms!
This striking plant produces cone-shaped clusters of red/violet flowers that bob and dance in the wind from summertime into fall. Its bright raspberry reds earned the CranRazz™ Butterfly Bush its juicy namesake!
Especially important as a late-season nectar source for Monarch heading south for the winter, you can plant several to keep the butterflies happy. Butterflies, other pollinators, and Hummingbirds flock to these wine-colored blooms until frost.
Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5 to 10, Buddleia, or Buddleja as they are sometimes spelled, are fast-growing shrubs that can reach a graceful 5 - 6 feet height. Sometimes acting as deciduous woody shrubs in warm climates, cold winters will make Butterfly Bush act more like an herbaceous perennial. Regrowing to full size each year after frost kills their tops back to the ground where their winter-hardy roots await spring.
Planting and Application:
If your garden needs a burst of color or you want it to become the next butterfly hangout, try planting this flowering shrub as a nectar resource. Then just add a host plant, such as Swamp Milkweed to provide food for Monarch caterpillars.
This plant loves the sun! Plant it where it can soak in the sunshine. CranRazz™ looks lovely among other flowering perennials as a mixed border, enhances your foundation planting, mixes with Roses and other flowering shrubs easily, and perks up a weary Cottage or Rock garden!
It's fast-growing, so expect it to give your garden border, backdrop, or hedge a full and lively look in no time. CranRazz™ works great as an informal screening hedge between properties, too!
- Large, Arching, Dark Reddish-Violet Flowers
- Graceful Branching & Fragrant
- Attracts Butterflies, Hummingbirds & Other Pollinators
- Excellent, Versatile Late-Season Choice!
- Hedges, Backdrops, Vivid Specimens & Pops of Color
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Handling high heat without fading, Butterfly Bushes love full sun and well-drained soils for best results. Create a raised bed if you need to improve drainage. Plant with Nature Hills Root Booster and a 3-4-inch layer of arborist mulch to support your shrub's root system further. During the first season in the ground, carefully supply a consistent amount of supplemental water. After the first year, these waterwise plants become drought tolerant once established.
Regular deadheading keeps blossoms returning until fall. Flowering on new wood, prune Butterfly Bushes back down to a foot high in early spring. They act like woody perennials in Zone 5 and 6 so trim them down to the ground in the spring instead. They'll grow quickly from the roots to full size each year.
- Widely Adaptable, Heat Tolerant & Full Sun
- Moderate Moisture & Fertility
- Easy Care in Well-Drained Soil
- Flowers on New Wood - Prune Early Spring
- Rarely Damaged by Deer
- Drought Tolerant Once Established
