Rare lavender-blue flowers make an incredible feature in any garden...no matter the size. Compact Boulevard® Cezanne™ Clematis (Clematis 'Evipo023') is a modern vining perennial to decorate balconies, courtyards and garden borders.
Like most Clematis, Cezanne is a knockout. Six pointed, overlapping sepals are steeped in a magnificent sky-blue hue, and surround a boss of creamy stamens.
Be inspired by this gorgeous plant. Use their visual appeal in several places through your landscape.
Combine them with other climbers, or decorate an outdoor container. Let them scramble over hill and dale for a painterly effect.
Cezanne is a reblooming variety that blooms first on growth from last year. These early, large flowers will bring a smile to all who view it.
You can actually enjoy their star-shaped flowering display twice a year. When flowers are this pretty...you'll be happy to do a little light cleanup to encourage a welcome second flush on new growth in late summer.
Part of the Boulevard series, Cezanne stays narrow and never overwhelms the space. Keep this special perennial vine in a high-profile spot, as you'll want to study the charming blooms closely.
The leaves have twining tendrils that wrap around narrow supports. Tie it up to create a vertical garden accent; or add coated landscape wire to broad-paneled trellis.
Clematis is having an "It Moment" as a very popular designer plant. These days, more and more people are using them to augment groundcover plants with bold, blue blooms.
Make your landscape a scented masterpiece...the easy way. Order Boulevard® Cezanne™ Clematis today!
How to Use Boulevard® Cezanne™ Clematis in the Landscape
Grow these showy vines in the ground or show them off as "Spillers" in oversized containers. You'll cherish the starry, blue blossoms.
Butterflies and honey bees appreciate them, too. Weave a few of these hard-working, fragrant plants into your Butterfly Garden.
They can be grown along the ground as a spectacular ground cover. Try them with other Clematis varieties for a pleasing designer-look.
Use them along a bare edge in your foundation planting for a unique, soft accent. Increase the formality with a sophisticated garden support to climb.
If used vertically, ensure you give them something narrow to hold on to. Wrap durable landscape fence around the base of your obelisk or tower, and tie up the upper growth as needed.
Consider these structures to be a year-round sculptural definition for your planting beds. Let the last blooms of the season remain on the vine.
The boss of stamens will age and dry into a fuzzy accent. You'll hear Clematis referred to as Old Man's Beard, and the seed heads provide fantastic winter interest.
No matter how large or small your garden is—Cezanne Clematis helps you make the most of it. Allow one or two to play around the base of your garden statuary to call more attention to your investment.
You can even turn the prosaic into a garden feature. Wrap the base of your mailbox with coated wire landscape fence, and plant Cezanne as a lightly scented gift to your neighborhood.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Plant Clematis with the leaves in full sun, but the roots in partial shade. Use wood mulch or a layer of rock over the roots to keep them nice and cool.
If you are using Cezanne as a climber, please place your support firmly before you plant. It's best not to disturb their roots after planting.
Give your beautiful Cezanne a life-long present that our expert growers swear by! Include Nature Hills Root Booster while planting to symbiotically support the feeder roots in their quest for water and micronutrients.
It will require a moderate amount of water on a regular basis. However, Clematis won't tolerate standing water, so make sure you plant in well-drained soil; or elevate it in a raised planting bed.
In early spring, trim down last year's stems just as they start to grow. Leave a foot of old growth standing, but remove any dead wood.
Once the first early flush of blooms finish, simply snip them back. Relish the second flush of blooms later in the season.
Don't go another season without spectacular, lilac-blue blooms in your life. Go ahead and order Boulevard Cezanne Clematis!
