Nanho Purple Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii 'Nanho Purple') is a deciduous shrub with ornamental features. A few of these would make a spectacular hedge for your landscape. If you have a place where fall flowers are lacking, Nanho would also be a great choice to fill in that spot with some late-season color.

Your Nanho Purple Butterfly Bush will astound you each June when its petite, lavender flowers appear. The delicate blossoms cluster in long spikes of up to six inches long! These bloom from the bottoms up to the tips for an extended flowering time for each bloom!

The fragrant blooms amid the grey-tinted, green foliage will be a strong lure to pollinators, and just as the name suggests, especially attractive to your butterflies. In fact, sometimes Butterfly Bushes in bloom are so covered with butterflies that the entire shrub seems to vibrate with their excitement! It has a graceful, arching habit and no significant disease or insect issues.

Planting and Application:

Butterfly Bushes thrive in full sun, the more the better! Provide a moderate amount of moisture that's consistent while they are establishing. Provide a well-drained site that's enriched and organic. Nanho can be left to grow naturally or pruned to about 6-8 inches high in late winter or early spring as desired. It's a vigorous grower and generally hardy.
