Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Growing Zones 5-9
The English Butterfly™ Adonis Blue™ Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii 'Adokeep') is a new cultivar that will not crowd its neighbors in your garden! Featuring the most vivid deep purple-blue blooms, Adonis Blue™ will set itself apart from the rest with its incredible flower color and dwarf size!
They are about one-third the size of most Butterfly Bush varieties, but the Pollinators, butterflies and Hummingbirds still love them just the same! And you will too! The plants are extra bushy while still maintaining a low-maintenance natural smaller footprint. Loaded with deeply colorful flowers, the deep-blue blooms are nearly full-size!
The Adonis Blue™ blooms from mid-summer through fall, offering late-season butterflies and migrating Monarchs and hummingbirds a waystation of rich nectar until frost! Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5 to 9, these little gems grow just 4-5 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide.
Planting and Application:
This plant is perfect for smaller gardens, the mixed shrub border garden or mixed Perennial bed! Low growing enough to use as facer shrubs for your foundation or to accent a tired evergreen hedge, but also compact enough to look great as front-of-the-garden border specimens and edging!
Low moisture needs once established, these water-wise plants can be Xeric and thrive in full sun gardens and Rock Gardens. But these whimsical blue wands look just as pretty in the pampered Cottage garden and Children's garden too! Every garden becomes a Pollinator garden with a few space-saving Butterfly Bushes in the mix!
English Butterfly™ dwarf Butterfly Bushes can also be used as container plants in milder climates! Dress up a porch or patio with unexpected blue blossoms, or accent poolside seating areas! Even container and balcony gardeners can enjoy the beauty that a Buddleia brings to your landscape without the property!
- Spikes Of Deep Blue Flowers!
- Compact Dwarf Shrub
- Attracts Butterflies & Hummingbirds
- Great in Containers & Sun Gardens
- Hedges, Edging, Vivid Specimens & Pops of Color
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Handling sun and heat without fading, Butterfly Bushes love full sun and well-drained soils. Plant with Nature Hills Root Booster and a 3-4-inch layer of arborist mulch to support your shrub's root system further. During the first season in the ground, carefully supply a consistent amount of supplemental water. After the first year, these waterwise plants become drought tolerant once established.
Regular deadheading keeps blossoms returning until fall. Flowering on new wood, prune Butterfly Bushes in warm climates back down to a foot high in early spring. In colder climates, the Adonis Blue™ will die back to the ground like a perennial but the roots will stay hardy and come back every spring.
- Heat & Full Sun Tolerant
- Moderate Moisture & Fertility
- Easy Care in Well-Drained Soil
- Flowers on New Wood - Prune Early Spring
- Rarely Damaged by Deer
- Drought Tolerant Once Established
