Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Growing Zones 5-9
One of the most fire-blight-resistant cultivars of the Flowering Pears! The Bradford Flowering Pear tree (Pyrus calleryana 'Bradford') is an extremely popular ornamental that will light up your landscape with its floral display! This vigorous-growing, mid-size, shade tree with outstanding clusters of white blooms in spring!
Attracting a wide variety of pollinators in search of an early-season nectar and pollen resource, you will love seeing the occasional hummingbird drop by for a visit as well! The flowers begin to fade as the glossy, ornamental green leaves appear to cast lush shade for the rest of the growing season!
Fall brings tiny little greenish fruit that the songbirds adore. But you won't notice them because of the very attractive yellow to red to purple fall foliage color that overtakes your entire tree in the fall! The Bradford Flowering Pear in the winter is just as picturesque as the deciduous foliage drops to reveal the pyramidal shape when young. Then watch as your Ornamental Pear develops a broad canopy with age!
Planting and Application:
If your area allows you to grow this fantastic specimen, Bradford is an excellent lawn tree and shade tree, this specimen shows off throughout every season of the year! The Bradford Pear is a beautiful garden addition that produces no edible fruit and no mess! Another great benefit of the Bradford is that it is a rapid grower so you'll get results fast! This makes the Bradford ideal for new construction homes, urban sites, and locations that may have some clay or poor soil to contend with.
Add fast-growing lush shade over backyard seating areas and enjoy screening with these vivacious ornamentals, decorating paved areas beautifully without any mess to stain the ground or your lawn chair cushions! These areas will become prime bird-watching locations because songbirds love these trees and the strong limbs not only give them ample nesting space but also a fall snack before winter!
Sometimes the seeds can be spread by birds and become a nuisance, popping up where they're not wanted. This is the reason for a few areas of the country do not allow these trees to be shipped to sensitive areas. Rest assured, Nature Hills uses Plant Sentry™ to track all federal, state, and local regulations on invasive materials. We will always protect you and your community. To see if your area is safe for one of these trees, add your zip code to the Plant Highlights section on this page.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This flowering tree grows best and has the most flowers in full sun. Bradford Pear trees will tolerate most soil types as long as they're well-drained. They are pest and pollution-resistant and tolerate drought well! Provide regular moisture for young trees, but once established, Bradford Pears become quite resilient! Top dress with 3-4 inches of arborist mulch for an extra layer of protection and insulation. Prune in the late winter to remove crossing or damaged branches.
