Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 6-10
There are many reasons that Nandinas are such popular shrubs and the Blush Pink™ Nandina PP#19916 (Nandina domestica 'AKA') has several more characteristics that make this lovely plant a winner in your landscape!
The Blush Pink™ Nandina stock was developed by Southern Living® Plants from the great Firepower Nandina. Like Firepower, this cultivar transforms color beginning in spring and lasting until fall! Never disheveled and showing off compact leafy cane-like stems, this is a lovely foliage plant for your landscape!
This tidy broadleaf evergreen shrub transitions from spritely green to a medley of corals, pinks, and reds during periods of new growth. Its young leaves light up like embers on the tips of branches and often feature green veins that really set off their ravishing hues. At the height of its new growth, the Blush Pink™ Nandina looks perfectly sun-kissed and cheerfully aglow.
Then the contrasting new growth becomes bright green for the summer but then is set afire once again for a fall show by transforming into rich shades of vibrant purple and red!
But what makes this Nandina stand apart from the rest is its flower-free … and therefore … seed-free sterile nature! That means it's not invasive!
Also known as Sacred Bamboo, this dwarf Blush Pink™ Heavenly Bamboo remains evergreen in warmer USDA planting zones of 6 to 10, this petite ornamental shrub packs all this color into a 1-2 foot tall and wide shrub! Note that in cooler climates, Nandina tends to act like semi-evergreen to deciduous shrubs and will lose their foliage for the winter.
Planting and Application:
This brilliant broadleaved evergreen doesn't leave you hanging. It offers four seasons of interest and pairs impeccably well with a wide range of other plants. From burgundy and purple foliage shrubs, pink and coral flowering perennials, and dark green evergreen conifers, to variegated plants! Its color makes an impactful statement alongside spring bulbs or summer blooms.
Blush Pink™ glows as a container planting, adding lacy texture and color to your mixed planters as filler and thrillers, or as the specimen planting in a concrete pot or half whiskey barrel! Great for creating some conversation around your seating areas, adding a touch of tropical beauty around the pool, or dressing up your balcony!
The lacy texture and space-saving size pop as a border row or edging! Try adding color to the weary row of conifers you have along your foundation hedge, both hiding their bare leggy lower stems as a facer plant, dwarf Nandina will also bring in that year-round color!
Why go small with this much color? Despite the size, Blush Pink™ has a powerful presence, so use this to your advantage! Long low, winding hedges or en masse plantings will surround your landscape or your business in low-maintenance curb appeal that will turn heads each season!
Plant throughout our mixed shrub borders, as backdrops to perennial gardens, in Rock Gardens and xeric Cottage Gardens, Poolside plantings, and Asian-Inspired Gardens alike gain their lacy texture and vibrant year-round color!
- Glowing Pink New Growth & Lemony Green Foliage
- No Flowers = No Berries That Spread & Become Invasive
- Broadleaf Evergreen Tropical-Looking Foliage
- Vibrant Range Of Colors Throughout The Year
- Low Hedges, Edging, Facer Plants, Mass Plantings & Container Specimens!
#ProPlantTips for Care:
To truly make your Blush Pink™ Nandina blush to its best ability, plant it in full sun. However, it may appreciate some relief from the hot afternoon sun in warmer zones. It thrives under most circumstances and in most soil types. Provide new shrubs with regular moisture access and do not let them dry out, but once established, Nandina won't need much water unless it's been excessively hot and dry and is considered highly xeric. But a 3-4 inch deep layer of arborist mulch around their roots helps hold in moisture and enriches the soil!
Because it doesn't grow as tall as many other Nandinas, it can be easier to maintain, rarely needing pruning. In fact, the Blush Pink™ Nandina rarely needs any maintenance from you. Also known as Sacred Bamboo, Nandina are not spreaders, nor invasive like some of their Bamboo counterparts.
- Full Sun & Some Afternoon Shade
- Well-Drained Soils Of All Kinds
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Little To No Pruning Needed
- Sterile Nandina Variety
- Pest & Deer-Resistant & Low-Maintenance
When it comes to outstanding performance and incomparable color, move over Firepower, there's a new kid in town: the Blush Pink™ Heavenly Bamboo Nandina. Order yours before we sell out at NatureHills.com.
