We've said before that every garden should have a Lilac in it and we really believe that here at Nature Hills! It is an easy shrub with famous perfume! One small plant can liven up your whole garden with that amazing Lilac scent all spring long. The Bloomerang® series of Lilac has an amazing array of selections for you in all sizes, including the vivid Dwarf Pink Reblooming Lilac (Syringa x BLOOMERANG 'SMNJRPI')! These dynamic little flowering shrubs were bred to give you repeat bloom from late summer into autumn, combined with that amazing scent and hard-to-find bright pink blossoms! That means amazing Lilacs to enjoy for three seasons!
Dwarf Pink is a new and improved version of Pink Perfume which was bred as a compact shrub that fits easily into any garden, whereas Dwarf Pink is even more compact! So it will fit in even easier into modern lots, established gardens, and even containers! Plus, the color of Dwarf Pink is deeper and more saturated, and the performance and disease resistance is superior! Dwarf Pink is meant to take all of the good qualities of Pink Perfume and magnify them!
The Lush green smaller foliage retains the typical heart-shaped leaves of their larger cousins and adds a slight ruffle on darker stems. So you'll enjoy these small, neat and tidy mounded flowering ornamentals even when they are not in bloom! Reaching a demure 2-3 feet in height and width, these cold-hardy selections tolerate USDA growing zones 3 through 7 with ease!
Planting and Application:
Like all the Bloomerang® series of Lilacs, these are easy to care for and low-maintenance scented wonders!
Dwarf Pink happily performs wonderfully well in containers and planters in any sunny balcony, porch or patio! Use this dwarf Lilac as a solo specimen or include it in a mixed planter around your seating areas. Or add a focal point in the garden featuring Dwarf Pink in an elevated pot surrounded by flowering groundcovers.
These tiny Lilacs look fantastic as edging and facer plants, so dress up that tired foundation row of evergreens with bright pops of pink throughout the growing season. Edge an established mixed shrub border to hide the bare leggy stems of older shrubs, or add interest to the front of a cottage garden that needs a prettier transition between lawn and garden bed.
You'll want to put it somewhere close to walkways and driveways so its rich color and deep scent can be enjoyed by people passing by. Decorate around the mailbox, dress up around a garden bench or gazebo, frame your steps leading to your front door, or line the entirety of your driveway. Sweetly separate your yard from the sidewalk with a row of these smaller shrubs!
Perfectly sized for use in any sized modern lot, postage stamp garden, container garden or border. Any garden becomes a pollinator garden and cut flower garden! You'll enjoy vases full of bright flowers to bring their scent indoors, and love all the butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds that will visit your property!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Like its predecessor, just give it average, well-drained soil and plenty of sun. Lilacs are easy to grow in full sun, with at least six hours of direct sun a day. Limb up mature trees to provide more sunshine, if desired. These shrubs can handle the arctic cold and can be kept outside all winter. Give it well-drained soil, too. They will not tolerate wet feet, so elevate your planting site if needed in a raised bed. Water a medium amount on a consistent basis for best results. These durable plants are tough, but we recommend you protect your investment with regular water; especially for container-grown plants. Apply mulch over the roots for insulation and moisture retention.
Disease and deer-resistant so you'll be saved the time and trouble of dealing with costly measures to keep it safe from harm. If you live with deer in your area, apply repellent spray on planting day. Deer are hungry and curious, and you want to train them to leave your plants alone. Reapply according to the label.
Dwarf Pink blooms on both old and new wood and is small enough to rarely need pruning. Should you feel the need to give your shrub a trim, only prune right after the first flush of spring flowers are done, so you do not remove next year's spring display. Follow these easy Pruning steps for the best flowering. The goal is to open up the shrub to good air circulation and more sunshine.
If you are growing in a lawn setting, please ensure that you keep the lawn fertilizers away from this plant. These are high-nitrogen formulas and will reduce the number of showy flowers you get to enjoy. Stick with a fertilizer formulated for flowering plants. Instead, apply an all-purpose fertilizer for blooming plants in early spring. Reapply in mid-summer, following label directions for application rates.
- Full Sun
