Finally! A superior Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Reblooming Azalea with year-round interest! The Bloom-A-Thon® Lavender Reblooming Azalea, (Rhododendron BLOOM-A-THON 'RLH14P19'), is known for being lush broad-leaved evergreen, disease resistant, and also fantastically re-blooming! It is sure to bring a distinguished 'wow factor' to your garden or landscape!

If you love the springtime blooms of Azaleas, then you are going to triply love the Bloom-a-Thon® Lavender Azalea! Why? Because Bloom-A-Thon® blooms once in spring, then again in summer, and then all the way through the fall. Three full seasons of blooms! Bloom-A-Thon® Lavender Azaleas have a glossy dense, bushy, and vigorous growth habit to add to the delight!

This new line of shrubs is superior to other varieties of Azaleas. Introduced in 2012, this desirable flowering ornamental will bloom with all of its sister Azaleas for 4-6 weeks in April-May. Then after a little rest (and maybe a quick trim), it will re-bloom for 12-16 weeks through the summer and fall, right up until frost. The flowers are the classic Southern purple that you love in Azaleas and they smother the bush in color.

The improvements will be obvious as they are very easy growing, disease resistant, maintain excellent color year-round, and are strong growing plants with lots of large trusses of blooms! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 7 to 9, these rounded broad-leaved evergreen plants grow 3-5 feet tall and just a bit less in width at maturity in optimal conditions.

Planting and Application:

These evergreens are perfect as hedges because they don't grow too large and burst with color most of the year. Bloom-a-Thon® Lavendar Azalea leaves stay green all year, so they are excellent foundation shrubs and make sheer walls of color when planted in masses! The year-round greenery and bushy form are perfect for mass plantings, and mixed shrubs!

Anchor garden beds with steadfast year-long greenery, or soften the corner of a building with finery! Bring vibrant lavender spring color to the front yard scene and major neighborhood clout each year! This variety takes more sun than most other azaleas, so leaf scorch isn't as much of a problem, broadening your ability to use this versatile shrub in a wider range of landscape applications.

Purple Azaleas make a great container plant, too. Large patio and porch planters and containers work for these plants, especially if you have poor drainage. Any shaded-to-sun location in the landscape is ideal for this easy-to-love and care-for flowering ornamentals! The showy color alone makes them deserving as a specimen plant and garden focal point! The butterflies and Hummingbirds will agree!

  • Vibrant Lavender Blossom Trusses
  • Welcome Spring Display
  • Lush Broad-Leaved Evergreen Foliage
  • Hummingbird & Pollinator Friendly
  • Easy Care, Hardy Reblooming Azalea
  • Hedges, Foundations, Vivid Spring Display & Containers

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Azaleas require little care beyond well-drained soil that never becomes soggy. Plant in full sun, partial shade, or morning sun and afternoon shade for best results. Plant in partial shade, or morning sun and afternoon shade. Best in rich soil that is mulched so their shallow root systems do not dry out, ensure they are not in soggy sites. Berm the area by 18-24 inches and plant directly into this mound if you suspect poor drainage. This Rhododendron family member is an extremely hardy evergreen Azalea and needs very little care or pruning, but if you do, prune immediately after flowering only. After bloom, it adapts very well to pruning to augment the plant's natural mounding habit.

  • Partial Shade
  • Moderate to Moist Soil
  • Well-Drained Very Enriched Soil
  • Prune Right After Flowering
  • Year Round Foliage

Azaleas are long-lived staples in the garden. They add instant Southern charm to your yard and are very easy-going once established. You don't need to coddle these beauties. Don't miss out! Order a Bloom-A-Thon® Lavender Reblooming Azalea today at Nature Hills!

Azalea and Rhododendron Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the best place to plant an Azalea bush?

Azaleas and Rhododendrons prefer partial shade (both dappled shade all day or morning sun with afternoon shade). Plant in a slightly acidic, consistently moist, enriched and well-drained soil location for best results. Their shallow roots dislike soggy soil but thrive with a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch over their surface.

How big does an Azalea bush get?

Bloom-A-Thon® Lavender Reblooming Azalea can reach a 3-5 foot tall and slightly smaller width in optimal conditions.

Are Azalea bushes low maintenance?

Azalea and Rhododendron shrubs are very easy to grow and low-maintenance. Water during drought, prune only after flowering, and fertilize with an acid-loving organic, slow-release flowering plant fertilizer.

What is the difference between Rhododendrons and Azaleas?

All Azaleas are Rhododendrons but not all Rhodondendrons are Azaleas. Azalea tends to be smaller-sized with smaller leaves and stems, while Rhododendrons can be larger with stout branching and larger bloom trusses. There can both be either deciduous or broad-leaved evergreens.
