Where to Plant

• Sunlight: This Bacopa thrives in full sun to partial shade, requiring at least 6 hours of direct light to maintain that "snowstorm" of white blooms. In hotter climates, afternoon shade prevents the plant from wilting during the peak heat of the day.
• Soil: Aim for fertile, well draining soil that feels like a wrung out sponge. If you have heavy clay, mix in organic compost or peat moss to improve drainage and prevent the roots from sitting in stagnant water.

Watering Requirements

During the first few weeks, water every day or two to ensure the root ball never completely dries out while it anchors into the soil. Once established, this variety is more resilient than older types, but inconsistent watering will cause it to "self prune" by dropping its flowers. Keep the soil consistently moist to the touch to ensure a non stop display of blooms throughout the summer.

Pruning Tips

Snowstorm® Giant Snowflake® is a "self cleaning" plant, meaning you do not need to deadhead old flowers to keep it looking tidy. If the stems become too long or start looking thin in midsummer, give the whole plant a light trim by cutting back the ends by about an inch. This acts like a "reset button" that encourages the plant to branch out and produce a denser carpet of foliage and fresh buds.

Fertilizer Needs

Use a balanced, water soluble fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season to fuel its fast growth and heavy flowering. Avoid using high nitrogen fertilizers late in the summer, as this can trick the plant into producing lush green leaves at the expense of its white flowers. Stick to a formula designed for flowering annuals to keep the bloom count high until the first frost.
