The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 3-9
Iris lovers are a voraciously loyal lot. Often their entire garden is turned over to this aristocratic flower. When a new Iris is introduced it has to pass muster on many levels to please true Iris connoisseurs. The Autumn Circus Bearded Iris (Iris germanica 'Autumn Circus') is one of those that every Iris lover has - or wants to have - in the garden. Not "just another white and blue Iris".
Autumn Circus is white with elegant violet-blue veins that look as if they were hand-painted on the flower by a European ceramics master. Streaking and feathering from the edges into the pure white, these are gorgeous bi-color fragrant beauties. Don't forget to snip some of the strong stems for fabulous floral bouquet additions too!
The flowers float above blue-green sword-shaped foliage that fills the garden from spring to fall. Autumn Circus is a profuse bloomer in the spring with a high bud count. There are plenty of flowers to cut for yourself, share with friends, and still leave some for the garden to enjoy. Then, after a summer of rest, more flowers bloom out in the fall to end the season just as spectacularly as it began.
Autumn Circus is a great clumping plant that grows quickly and is easy to divide, so you'll soon have many more plants to spread around the garden or pass out to gardening neighbors. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 9, these smaller Bearded Iris grow 2-3 feet tall and can spread 1-4 feet wide via underground rhizomes. This delightful plant is relatively low maintenance and hardy. Deer and rabbits seldom bother with them and they have few pests and diseases when kept stress-free.
Planting and Application:
Amplify the dramatic purple and white flowers by planting this carnival of color in groupings or long rows. Tall enough as backdrops, but narrow enough to use along pathways, and adding vertical fringe along your home's foundation. Plant in groupings throughout mixed Perennial borders, Rock Gardens, and Cottage gardens!
The space-saving spread of these perennial plants are great for container gardening thrillers, so you can enjoy these vibrant flowers and their vertical textured leaves anywhere sunny, even if you don't have a yard!
These incredibly showy two-tone Autumn Circus blooms stand out among other plants not only because of their vibrant colors but also their height! Pollinators galore will fly by for a sip of nectar, and you may even see a Hummingbird or two!
- Dramatic White Flowers With Dark Purple Edges & Feathering
- Bee, Butterfly & Hummingbird Friendly
- Fragrant & Wonderful Cut Flowers
- Tall Strong Stems & Strappy Upright Foliage Clumps
- Sun Landscapes, Pollinator Gardens, Groupings & Containers
#ProPlantTips For Care
Tall Bearded Iris are clump-forming perennials that will grow best in full sun locations of your garden but appreciate some afternoon shade in hotter growing zones. Iris prefers to be planted in well-draining, average to moist soil but can manage drier conditions as well. Provide supplemental moisture during long heat spells and drought.
Top-dress with a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the base to conserve moisture and protect the rhizomes, which prefer to be partly planted in the ground instead of planted deeply. Deadhead the flowers as they fade and trim back the foliage when it yellows in the fall. Every 3-5 years, divide the clumps of rhizomes to keep them growing vigorously and remove old rhizomes.
- Full Sun & Afternoon Shade
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Well-Drained Rich Soil
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Trim Stems in Late Autumn
- Pest, Deer & Rabbit-Resistant

Information About Bare Root Iris
Plant Iris about 15-18 inches apart. Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots.
When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover them in the spring.
