Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 4-9
The cheerful fluffy blooms and elegant foliage, the Proven Winners® Rise and Shine Astilbe (Astilbe x 'Rise and Shine') is a new hot pink flowering variety that will wake up your shade garden! The large, 8-inch-long, plumes are held strong on sturdy flower stems and look like a large bouquet has been planted in the garden!
Rise and Shine is a new hybrid variety of the Astilbe chinensis species which is where it gets its increased sun and drought tolerance, stronger roots, and more vibrant color, setting it apart from its other more shade garden cousins!
Also known as False Spirea, Rise and Shine brings in the butterflies and hummingbirds on its tall stems that flower through the midsummer weeks!
Astilbes are long-lived perennials that are most comfortable when grown in rich soil and light shade to filtered sun. They will grow in full shade, but will not bloom as prolifically there. Highly pest and disease-resistant, Astilbes are deer and rabbit-resistant, spreading into lacy mounds just 12 - 18 inches wide but the tall, very sturdy stems can grow a sizeable 24 - 27 inches.
Landscape Application:
Gorgeous specimens for the garden, as well as your floral bouquets, Rise and Shine Astilbe is a must-have for your Cutting garden, pollinator border, and cottage gardens! Add groupings to mixed perennial borders, and throughout the understory of trees where Astilbe spread and form polite colonies beneath their canopy.
Use these fluffy pink spires as thrillers in your container gardens and mixed planters in partly sunny patios and porches, brightening up seating areas, and decking out your front entry or balcony in pretty foliage filler, before and after the flowers arrive on the scene!
- Tall Mid-Summer Pink Fluffy Blooms
- Lacy Deep Green Leaves
- Very Sturdy Stems Great For Bouquets & Dried Decor
- Attracts Pollinators & Hummingbirds
- Lovely Edging, Container Plants, Massing & Easy Shade Garden Accents
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Most Astilbe is successfully grown in a shadier area but can tolerate some morning sun, however, Rise and Shine handles more sun than the rest of the family and can be planted in full sun in cool climates. But, in warmer hardiness zones, be sure to plant these tender perennials where they'll be protected from the hot afternoon sun. Preferring moist, well-drained soil is key for growing a healthy Astilbe plant. It's also best to keep them from drying out as Astilbe prefers moist, humus, organically-rich soils.
Adding mulch is recommended to help maintain soil moisture and insulate the root system from heat and cold. Top dress your site with at least 2-3 inches of mulch, extending out past the leaves for a finished look and to maintain consistent soil moisture.
Keep Astilbe looking good by waiting until spring to prune as the old foliage helps protect the plant from winter damage. That way, it will look fresh and ready for the next growing season.
- Full Sun to Full Shade Depending On Climate
- Needs Well-Drained Enriched Soil
- Moderate to High Moisture
- Prune Early Spring
- Deer & Rabbits Seldom Bother Astilbe
