Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

With streamlined foliage, Areca Palm is a popular houseplant that looks very sleek and modern. With wide-spreading fronds, this is a marvelous plant to use as a screen. You can even use a row of them as a very effective room divider.

Elegant, spare and supermodel pretty, the Areca Palm has a reputation as a bit of a diva. It’s true, you may need to take some care while setting up your plant’s environment.

But, honestly - isn’t this beauty worth it?

Give yours bright light, but place it at an angle away from the direct rays of the sun. Take the Areca outside for summer. Give a bit of protection from the hottest sun. Watch for any browning tips, which is a signal your plant is getting too much sun. Try it on a covered porch, or in the dappled shade of a taller tree.

Distilled or filtered water is best, and don’t overdo it while watering. Ensure the soil dries out just a bit between waterings. Never let water sit in the saucer!

Areca Palms love high humidity, so boost your indoor air with a diffuser. Mist your Areca Palm several times a week. You’ll be impressed at how relaxing that mindful activity can be!

It can grow in the same pot for several years. When you start seeing roots push out from the bottom and top of the soil, it’s time to repot it. Divide the clumps at that point to increase your collection, or discard the woodiest section.
