#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant in full sun for the best blooms. At least 6 hours of direct sunlight is required. Rose trees need rich, but well-drained soil and won't tolerate wet feet. If you need to improve drainage, mound up by adding additional soil 18 inches high by 3 feet wide, then plant in that mound.

Or, keep them in containers filled with a rich organic soil mix in a protected location and winter protection too. Give them a medium amount of water on a regular basis. Apply a good organic, slow-release fertilizer in late winter and again in mid-summer. Roses appreciate a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch over the roots all growing season to keep them cool and moist.

Rose Tree Care & Pruning

Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the cooler zones by overwintering your Rose in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with a straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap it and trim the head back to about a 12" sphere just as it begins to grow again in spring.

Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.
