Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Support butterflies and beneficial pollinators with the quality blooms bourne on this easy-care native cultivar from Proven Winners® ColorChoice®! The cheerful and bright red Pardon My Cerise Bee Balm PP# 29,234 (Monarda didyma 'Pardon My Cerise'). These compact, sturdy perennials are liberally covered with large flowers in that showy deep to vivid reddish-pink hue designers and decorators call cerise.

You'll be thrilled with the flowering performance and spicy scent of this densely-branched, unusually petite plant...and so will local pollinator populations! This North American native cultivar is a nectar-rich resource great for honey bees and other beneficial insects. Hummingbirds love the tubular shape of the florets and also relish the ample nectar in these dark, cherry-pink flowers!

You'll love every inch of their pretty posies each summer! Fragrant green foliage is touched with a hint of gray-purple for a calm, restful tone in your garden design! Hardy throughout a wide range of hot and cold USDA planting zones 4 to 8, Pardon My Cerise is a smaller Bee Balm growing up to 18 inches tall and only a foot wide. In some settings, Monarda can naturalize by underground spreading roots and shoots.

Landscape Application:

Because Monarda grows in dappled sunlight in hotter climates … why not give them a starring role along a path at the edge of a woodland? Each step will be a visual adventure with Pardon My Cerise lighting up your footsteps! Bee Balm it is an excellent, densely branched compact form for walkways and front of the border plantings. It shines in Cottage gardens, is rugged enough for Rock Gardens, and whimsical enough for Sensory and Children's Gardens alike!

Great for smaller yards and urban courtyards, these smaller Bee Balms pack all the vibrancy of Monarda in a tiny package! Create bright pops of color throughout the sun landscape and as a unique front-of-the-garden border planting.

Outdoor entertainment areas deserve a flamboyant accent like Pardon My Cerise Bee Balm. Keep them as "Fillers" in oversized patio containers around your porches and sunny patios, light up your poolside plantings and even balcony gardens gain a showy little specimen!

Use near the front of your mixed garden beds and borders. They'll happily create a soft fill for a lush look. If you grow your own food, you'll want to plant this Bee Balm nearby. Entice all the pollinators to come visit your blooming fruiting plants to help you achieve bumper harvests! Plant a few in your cutting garden to enjoy these unique flowers indoors too!

  • Cheerful Bright Red Unique Flowers
  • Smaller Sized Monarda
  • Long Summer Bloom Time
  • Feeds Bees, Butterflies & Hummingbirds
  • Aromatic & Fragrant Perennials
  • Specimens, Borders, Edging, Containers & Massing

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant Bee Balm in rich, well-drained soil where they will get at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight a day (the more sun, the better!) Although Monarda can grow in partial shade, you will find the most uniform growing plants with the best bloom in more sun. Provide a consistent amount of water for best results. Add life-long support simply by using symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster in the planting hole.

Plan to cut as many flowers as you would like for indoor flower arrangements, or deadhead after the flowers fade to encourage an occasional rebloom later in the season. In early spring, trim the dried foliage back to the ground for a fresh start to the growing season. The disease-resistant leaves stay blissfully free of powdery mildew when given the right amount of air circulation.

A long, summer-blooming, compact form of Bee Balm that loves a sunny, mulched location. Deadhead the plants to keep them clean looking cut all plants down in late fall and remove all debris in fall. Divide clumps every 3-5 years to maintain their shape and vigor.

  • Loves Full - Partial Sun/Afternoon Shade In Hot Climates
  • Very Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Needs - Drought Tolerant
  • Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Back In Late Fall
  • Disease & Mildew Resistant Foliage
