Planting

  • Soil: Well-draining soil with a pH of 5.5 to 7.0 is ideal. Avoid areas prone to waterlogging.

Grapevine Care

  • Watering: Provide moderate, consistent moisture, especially during dry spells or the growing season.
  • Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring to support healthy growth and fruit development.
  • Mulching: Add a 3–4 inch layer of mulch to retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and suppress weeds.
  • Pruning: Prune during late winter or early spring to maintain shape, encourage airflow, and promote vigorous fruiting wood.

Grapevine Training

  • Structure Support: Train vines on trellises, pergolas, or arbors for both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
  • Pruning Technique: Focus on training one strong cane to a sturdy support structure, removing suckers and weak growth.
