To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

Big towering wands of gorgeous two-tone color, the Magic Fountains Cherry Blossom Delphinium (Delphinium elatum 'Cherry Blossom') sends up creamy mauve double petals that look like fluttering Cherry blossom petals, each with a pure white cluster of petals, called the bee, in the center of each massive flouncy bloom that smothers the tall flowering wands! Each center is accented by the classic dark stamen that cluster in the very center of the eye!

Forming from a dense cluster of lobed, deep-green foliage, Delphinium is the classic garden and cut flower plant that are a garden standard for many!
Cherry Blossom Delphinium is a cold hardy herbaceous perennial that thrives in the sun and cold winters of USDA growing zones 3 through 7. Usually avoided by deer, the hummingbirds and beneficial pollinators will be flocking to these vertical blooms on their sturdy stalks! When in bloom, each flower spike can reach 3 feet with ease and the foliage mounds can spread to 12-18 inches in width for a lovely display when not in flower. The space-saving size means any garden can sneak one of these romantic perennials somewhere into its midst!
Planting and Application:
Cherry Blossom Delphinium looks romantic when swaying among Roses or Lilies, planted in rows or in groupings to maximize their impact on the garden bed or border! These are head-turning back of the border perennial plants and should be used to add depth, height and dramatic color to the garden. Snip a few for the vase indoors for amazing bouquets, while also encouraging new flowers to form and take their place!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Delphinium appreciates full sun and some afternoon shade in hotter climates. Plant in well-drained enriched soil with a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over the roots. Provide regular moisture all summer for best results.
The strong stems rarely need to be staked when planted in a protected area, so they continue to stand tall as rosy punctuation throughout the garden bed! But if you do grow them in windy locations, a firm stake will help support their stems. Deadhead early enough and you’ll enjoy a rebloom until fall, then as the foliage turns yellow, prune back the mound close to the ground and water it in well one last time before the ground freezes.
They are also heavy feeders. The addition of compost or manure to the soil, as well as a granular fertilizer, will result in healthier, stronger plants. It is recommended you wear gloves when handling these plants since some can develop skin sensitivity. Always monitor young pets and young children around Delphinium.
