Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Our breeder has selected this exciting new herb for your sunny Salsa Gardens this year! The Late & Spicy Cilantro (Coriandrum sativum 'Late&Spicy') is a late-flowering, very leafy salad-type Cilantry with a wonderful spicy flavor! If you were lucky enough to receive the Cilantro-loving gene, you’ll love this lower to bolt, abundantly full herb!

The finely divided leaves and textured stems form lovely-looking plants! Plus if you’re lucky, you’ll see a few black, white and yellow striped caterpillars munching on your leaves. If you don’t mind them, you’ll later enjoy cocoons hatching into Black or Giant Swallowtail Butterflies! Just in case, plant a few extra plants for yourself and your wildlife! Bees and adult butterflies go crazy for the pollen and nectar resources!

You can pinch off the blooms or leave the big white umbels on the plant for your pollinators and butterflies! Otherwise, they are fine-textured additions to herbal bouquets and as garnish! Or better yet, let them go to seed and harvest your own Coriander, just be careful, Cilantro can self-seed readily, but that just means more for next year!

Planting and Application:

Forming tons of branching and lots of flavorful, powerfully aromatic foliage for your authentic flavored dishes, salsa and leafy salads! Even the flowers are edible and the seeds, also known as Coriander, can flavor your dishes, soups and meat dishes! Even the larger roots can be cooked, the entire plant has some medicinal properties!

Late & Spicy is an ornamental flowering herb with so much double duty in the kitchen as it does in the pollinator and perennial garden beds and borders! Those gardeners that find the flavor soapy and gross, can still enjoy these herbs for their flowering aspect! The lovely blooms add graceful, airy texture among cutting gardens, cottage border and sunny herb planters and patio pots.

  • Airy White Umbel Flowers
  • Tons of Flavorful Pungent Foliage
  • Edible & Medicinal Top to Bottom
  • Ornamental Flowering Herb
  • Butterfly Host Plant & Pollinator-Friendly

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Cilantro does require sunny, well-drained soils with moderate, yet consistent moisture to keep the plants fresh and usable! Pinch back to keep them bushy and productive, deadhead to prevent self-seeding.
