To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

You may have never heard of Crispleaf Stephanandra Lace Shrub (Stephanandra incisa 'Crispa') but it is something of a garden magician! Its signature trick is in how easily it multiplies itself so that soon you will have a thicket of wonderfulness in your landscape. The lovely stems arch and bend to create an enticing waterfall effect, and every place that a stem touches the ground it sets roots!
The fine texture of the small leaves makes these even more graceful additions to your landscape, but then you get to enjoy the tiny yellowish-white flowers for you in the spring, but the flowers aren't the main show. Growing nearly 4 feet wide at maturity, these can cover large areas quickly and spill and ramble over terrain.
You can use this as a lush summer groundcover. The real show comes in the fall when the maple-like, deeply incised, spring green leaves blaze orange and yellow. Taken together with the weeping habit, this fall color shrub is the poster boy for Autumn!
Planting and Application:
Lace Shrub has no serious disease or insect problems so it makes a great low hedge or foundation plant. You will find that it works equally well in a formal garden (with a little spring shear) as in a woodland, rustic or cottage garden where a little 'wild' is welcome. Let ramble over the tricky ground of the 'hell-strip' between the sidewalk or road where it stands up to tougher conditions.
Since it grows low and roots so readily, it also is super-effective as erosion control for banks and slopes. Plant at the top of a retaining wall or hillside and let Crispleaf Stephanandra tumble and ramble down to add grace and elegance to hardscapes and slopes. Plant in rock gardens and allow the cascading stems to ramble as they please. For something unique, try adding to a large planter to use as a spiller or in a hanging basket for a shower of weeping stems.

Lace Shrubs do best in full sun and partial shade and love moderately average moisture and well-drained soil. Provide a mulched bed when establishing and provide regular water. Prune after flowering to keep them tidy if needed or let them grow as it chooses wild and free.
