Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. You might have grown garden Sage before but was it …INTENSE? The Intense Sage (Salvia officinalis 'IntenseSage') takes Common Sage to the next level! It will knock your socks off with a wildly intense culinary sage flavor and fragrance!

This exciting new narrow-leafed Aage features silvery grey-green foliage and very compact, densely-branched habit! These leaves are the perfect backdrop for the bluish, two-lipped blooms that appear on tall, waving wands! They’ll be wiggling as bumblebees and honeybees buzz from flower to flower!

Intense Sage has fuzzy soft foliage that is intensely aromatic and flavorful! The flowers too are edible herbs and look lovely sprinkled over salads and desserts as garnish and color! But leave some for the bees because Sages are a vital pollen and nectar resource for butterflies, native bees and other beneficial insects! Plant a few extra for your wildlife, enough to cook with and more to snip stems for herbal floral bouquets or dry them for crafts and later use!

Planting and Application:

The smaller, compact size of Intense Sage makes it valuable as a colorful, dual-purpose addition to container gardens, porch planters and even window boxes - anywhere you need fragrant and flowering filler that also super-charges the flavors in soups and stews, intensifies vegetables and meat, and dresses up stuffing and pork dishes with a big-time boost!

Always welcome in pollinator and cutting gardens, and a necessary staple for sunny kitchen gardens and herb gardens! These are ornamental herbs and not just standard culinary fare. Tuck into cottage and perennial beds or bring in as a houseplant during colder northern winters. They look lovely and add their cooling hue to mixed beds, herb planters and borders that butterflies won’t be able to resist!

  • Next Level Flavor & Herbal Aroma
  • Soft, Fuzzy Silvery Blue-Green Foliage
  • Bluish Wands of Blooms
  • Ornamental Culinary & Crafts
  • Beneficial for Bees & Butterflies

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Intense thrives in very sunny, well-drained garden soils that are organic and enriched, preferring low moisture once established. Mulch them well in winter and prune woody stems in early spring. If you want flowers, then prune after they are spent.

Go big or go home with the extreme flavor and fragrance boost of Intense Sage! Find yours today at NatureHills.com with all our exciting new herb plants that are now available!
