Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Some herbs can be so fussy, but not this one. An exceptionally attractive evergreen herb that can stand up to most soil types, the Highland Cream Thyme (Thymus praecox 'Highland Cream') is a great choice if you want to spice up your garden!

Highland Cream Thyme is a garden MVP! This delightful plant offers great color and versatility. Its foliage is medium green with variegated yellow margins. It even blooms in the summertime with petite and soft pink clusters of flowers. Prepare to enjoy some winged garden visitors. It is a natural favorite for pollinators like butterflies, too. You don't have to worry about deer destroying it, either.

The Highland Cream Thyme has one of the freshest fragrances you'll find. This plant will fill the air with a citrusy-lemon scent. Hardy in growing zones 4 - 8, Thyme is an incredible blooming, aromatic and space-saving herb that only grows to a mature height of 2-4 inches with a mature spread of 6-12 inches wide.

Planting and Application:

Imagine that bare spot in your garden as a lush green mat with a fresh aroma. Also known as Creeping Thyme, this low-growing plant has a knack for spreading. Plant between your stepping stones and pavers, or on the sides of a path. This means it makes an amazing ground cover and filler. Plant it on a sloped area of your yard for a blanket of yellow and green. It even holds up well to light foot traffic.

If you need a pop of green in an area that's gray, this plant will crawl across your rock garden or look lovely along the path to your front door. And, of course, you can cook with Highland Cream Thyme. It offers a fresh thyme flavor that tastes amazing on chicken and pork! It will also jazz up roasted veggies. Tuck into your Kitchen and Herb garden, vegetable gardens, and pots by your back door patio or front entry containers and planters.

  • Easy to Grow Edible & Ornamental Herb
  • Low-Growing & Spreading Ground Cover
  • Pleasant Lemon Scent
  • Pink Summer Flowers Calls Butterflies
  • Green & Creamy Yellow Foliage

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Because it grows well in partial shade, you can use this charming plant as an accent in your garden or in those tight spots that don't get very much water. And just when you thought it couldn't get better, the Highland Cream Thyme grows well in a wide range of soil conditions! It prefers well-drained soil with low moisture, but it will grow in sandy soil. It thrives in full or partial sun and, once established, is quite drought-tolerant. This plant is deer-resistant and rabbit resistant.
