To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.
- Popular sizes of select trees are 1 foot, 2 feet, 3 feet, etc.
- Popular sizes of select bare root plants is 1 foot, 18 inches, etc.

Spice up your seating area and lively up your landscape with Mariachi™ Salsa Helenium (Helenium hybrida ‘Salsa’ PP# 25978). Enjoy approximately 200 delightful, daisy-like blooms each year with their fun, fiery ray florets of scarlet-red with yellow bases around a prominent, chocolate brown disc dusted with golden pollen.
Sassy Salsa is free-flowering in summer through fall with a sprightly look. Lobe-petaled blooms are held high above the foliage on strong stalks in clustered inflorences; which make the visual effect that much more vivid.
Planting and Application:
Species Helenium was once used as an old-fashioned herbal purgative,which earned it the nickname Sneezeweed...but it's also nicknamed Helen's Flower for it's incomparable beauty. It's certainly easy to see why Salsa is such a desirable modern cultivar of this well-behaved herbaceous perennial for moist soils.
- Butterflies are also absolutely crazy about this dynamic, late season nectar resource. Pair them with Cardinal Flower and Swamp Milkweed in low-lying parts of your landscape to create a haven for beneficial pollinators.
- Salsa is an excellent choice at the edge of a planned Rain Garden. Using berms and swales, you'll corral potentially pollunted runoff from roofs and streets to be filtered by plant roots.
- Include Salsa in the mixed garden border. Go ahead and use as many as you'd like...they make an incredible mass planting with Calamintha nepeta, Black-Eyed Susan and Coneflower.
- Of course, you can also keep Salsa in containers on your patio, porch or balcony. Get your fiesta started with this engaging member of the coveted Mariachi line of compact Helenium.
- Children are fascinated by the upright faces of these darling blooms. Why not include them in a special garden near their play structure or swingset?
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Helenium autumnale Mariachi Salsa is blissfully disease and pest-resistant. They'll perform their best in a full sun planting site that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight.
- Moist and periodically wet soils are best. Give them enduring, life-long support with symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster used in the planting hole.
- . They'll need a regular schedule of supplemental water if you don't get enough rainfall..
- Snip the peduncle flower stalks back after flowering for a tidy appearance. You can also choose to wait until the following spring to do cleanup...which gives shelter and seed to neighborhood songbirds.
