Double Blooms With A Sweet Surprise
Coconut Punch Dianthus PPAF is a fragrant delight in the garden! This fragrant cultivar of Dianthus (Dianthus 'Coconut Punch') dazzles with double-layered petals that look hand-painted—deep crimson centers with crisp white edges, giving it a festive, firework-like appearance. These frilly blooms arrive in late spring and keep the show going off and on through summer, especially with regular deadheading.
It's a compact, reblooming hybrid with strong color contrast, ideal for borders and containers alike. A neat little mound-forming perennial, Coconut Punch grows just 8-10 inches tall and spreads to about a foot wide. It features slender, lanceolate (long and pointed) silvery-green foliage that stays attractive even when it's not in bloom. The blossoms themselves are clove-scented, perfect for a sensory experience.
As a bonus, this cultivar can produce a second flush of flowers in cool summer climates or with a bit of encouragement in warmer zones.
Beloved by pollinators and resistant to deer, Coconut Punch Dianthus is a member of the Carnation family.
