Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Have you ever driven through the Midwest and wondered how in the world they did it? How did those intrepid first pioneers ever cross this big country in their covered wagons with no real roads and nothing but miles and miles of prairie?
Perhaps they were helped along by the beauty found in those miles and miles of prairies, covered in beautiful grasses and wildflowers! One of the most prevalent flowers found in the tall-grass prairies was the native Coneflower! These are super hardy in even tough situations. The first settlers probably saw them in shades of yellows and purples, but thanks to modern breeding techniques we have them in an array of technicolors!
The Proven Winners® Lakota™ Santa Fe Coneflower (Echinacea x 'Santa Fe') which is a stunning new strain is awash in shades of rich red - including barn-red, orange-red, and pinkish-red. It adds a big pop of color wherever it's planted throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 8!
Planting and Application:
The strong branching and lush mounds of green leaves only grow 1-2 feet tall and wide when in bloom and mature! So plant Santa Fe as edging, as cute little container specimens, and as small-space focal points throughout your sunny landscape! Flowering all summer through the autumn, the varied shades will make you fall in love!
The brilliant hues that mix all the colors of the sunset mix and match among other warm-to-hot hues in the Rock Garden, Cottage border, and mixed perennial garden! The spicy hues are a must-have for the Pollinator Garden and Cutting Garden where your vase bouquets and your Hummingbirds and pollinators will enjoy Santa Fe's varied vivid colors and fragrant nectar! The more you cut for your arrangements, the more it blooms!
Use these darling little perennials as edging, as front-of-the-border accent groupings, and en masse because these may be sweet and petite flowering plants, but have their native hardiness and low-maintenance nature! Handing sun, heat, humidity, drought, and poor soil with ease!
- Flowers With Multiple Shades of Warm Red
- Fragrant Flowers For Pollinators & Cut Flower Bouquets
- Long-Lasting Blooms - Summer to Fall
- Compact Dwarf Coneflower
- Small-Space Specimens, Bold Sun Garden Focal Points & Container Plants!
#ProPlantTips for Care:
For best results, these herbaceous perennials need to be planted in the full sun in a well-drained soil area to ensure they grow the strongest stems and the healthiest roots. New plants need regular moisture their first year, but once established, Coneflowers only need supplemental moisture during prolonged drought and extreme heat. All plants appreciate a 3-4-inch layer of arborist mulch and Nature Hills Root Booster to keep your plants stress-free.
Coneflowers rebloom best with regular deadheading, this will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improve general appearance. Prune these plants in late fall or very early spring depending on if you want winter interest and to feed birds the seedheads in the autumn or not. Divide your plants every 3-4 years to maintain their flowering vigor.
- Full Sun Perennials
- Any Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture Needs - Drought-Tolerant Once Established
- Deadhead Often & Prune Early Spring
- Deer, Rabbit & Pest-Resistant
