Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Bloom PeriodEarly Spring, Late Spring

Growing Zones 3-7
Dreamy creamy dollops of whipped cream, the Ivory Floradale Tulip (Tulipa 'Ivory Floradale') features gorgeous blooms that range from creamy ivory to white. Standing atop the green stems and lovely soft green strappy foliage. These sculpted blooms are smooth and perfectly formed, divinely scented, and long-lasting on the plant and as elegant additions to a fragrant vase bouquet!
The foliage forms upright vase-shaped clumps of beautiful blooms that look divine in vases and floral arrangements. It will also spread and naturalize in the garden, gradually forming larger clumps each year, so be sure to give it a bit of space between bulbs during your fall planting. Early emerging pollinators will sip the nectar feeling like they have moved into the Ritz!
Ivory Floradale Tulip is a hardy spring ephemeral throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 7 and grows to a graceful clump 19-24 inches tall and nearly as wide. Fast-growing and loving the full sun, these lovely Darwin Hybrids shine each spring!
Planting and Application:
Ivory Floradale Tulip looks opulent in a forcing vase or in clusters of mossy urns indoors. Outdoors, Tulips are lovely container additions that light up other spring ephemerals or annual blossoms. Force bulbs indoors, plant outdoors, either way, you'll enjoy these lovely blooms and their alluring scent. This luminous beauty looks ravishing as a middle planting in a garden bed. It really sings when given a deep green backdrop. It will also thrive and impress as a mass planting or as a border towering over your garden path.
Pollinators and cutting gardens are ideal locations for these lovely blooms so both you and your butterflies can enjoy the view. Plant among larger perennials and shrubs so their later emerging foliage shades these tender perennial bulbs. Creamy rows of blooms light up walkways and borders, and the edges of your gardens. Highlighting Rock gardens and Cottage gardens in grace while forming tidy clumps and drifts of elegant color.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Bulbs require full sun and well-drained soil. Appreciating afternoon shade in warmer hardiness zones where the sun is intense. Any soil type is suitable so long as it is not soggy. Plant in the ground with pointed ends up 3 times as deep as the bulbs are tall. Deadhead after flowers fade, but let the leaves remain so they can make food for the bulb and next year's flowers! Not only is it strong, but it also has incredible endurance. Its blooms endure through spring showers and days of sunshine. Fall-planted bulbs need well-drained soil with moderate moisture needs. Add bulb fertilizer to each hole for best results.
- Full Sun For Strongest Growth
- Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Mounds After Leaves Yellow
