Soft pastels that will make all the Peeps happy, choose the Easter Basket Tulip Mix (Tulipa 'Purple Prince', Tulipa 'Sunny Prince', Tulipa 'Candy Prince') brings together all the colors of the spring season in one delightful combination!

Featuring three varieties of our favorite royal Tulips - Sunny Prince Tulips buttery yellows, rich pink Candy Prince, and light purple Purple Prince, for a pastel blend of cuppy Darwin-style Tulips! Held aloft on strong stems with a vase-shaped green backing of strappy foliage!

Growing 15-20 inches tall when in bloom, these are cold-hardy perennial bulbs that are planted in the fall for spring bloom! And what blooms! Darwin Tulips have egg-shaped blooms with cupped petals. They also naturalize and politely colonize throughout the sunny landscape!

Planting and Application:

This breath of fresh spring air is wonderfully fragrant and looks (and smells) great when planted in your Cutting garden for beautiful bouquets, in your porch and patio containers by your seating areas, and when forced indoors for a break from the winter blues! A forced collection in a shallow dish or bouquet will look great on the holiday table this year!

Easter Basket Tulip Mix brings jelly bean colors to your spring garden beds, filling Cottage Gardens, and Rock Gardens with fresh color, and happily rambling through mixed shrub and mixed perennial borders where the blooms shine all spring, then gladly bask in the shade provided by the later emerging foliage of their larger landscape companions.

Use Easter Basket Tulip Mix along a long border, or surround a playhouse or She-Shed with them. These cheerful colors really pop after the long, dull winter. Try planting bulbs in the fall with your kids and grandkids. What a cool lesson in the wonder of nature, and you’ll enjoy gathering more than eggs this spring!

  • Embodiment of Spring Purples, Yellow & Pink
  • Naturalizing Darwin Tulips
  • Vase-Shaped Clumps of Soft Green Foliage
  • Bees, Butterflies & Sweetly Scented Cut Flower Bouquets
  • Great For Seasonal Container Gardens
  • Beds & Borders, En Masse, Rows & Groupings

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Tulip bulbs grow best in full to partial sun, and in a well-drained location, as they do not like soggy soil so water newly planted bulbs very well, but then only water as needed. Once established, you will only need to provide supplemental water if it gets dry that fall, or during summers when you have extensive heat and drought. Top-dress with a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch to consistently hold in soil moisture and insulate the perennial bulbs.

Deadhead the flower heads once they fade but let the foliage remain to make food for the bulbs. Trim away the leaves and remove them from the area once they turn yellow. Apply an early spring application of bulb fertilizer.

Tips on Planting Tulip Bulbs

Plant Tulip Bulbs in the fall about 6 to 8 weeks before a hard freeze (or anytime in the autumn when the ground is still workable.). Place the perennial bulbs in a hole with the pointy end upward and at least 8 inches deep (about 3x the length of the bulb), spaced about 4-6 inches apart.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade Outdoors & Indirect Sun Indoors
  • Needs Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate to Low Moisture
  • Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune After Foliage Yellows
  • Fall-Planted Perennial Spring Flowering Bulbs
