Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

- Age Indicators: Container size primarily indicates plant age and maturity rather than liquid volume equivalents
Growing Conditions
- Plant size can vary based on variety and growing conditions
- Container size helps indicate plant maturity and establishment level
- Larger containers generally mean more established root systems and faster landscape establishment
Seasonal Availability
- Bare root plants are available seasonally when dormant
- Container plants are available throughout the growing season

The Vibrant and Versatile Verbascum Honey Dijon
- Peach and Gold Colored Bloom Spikes
- Summer Reblooming
- Pollinator Friendly
- Deer and Drought Tolerant
Abundant, early Spring flowers top the dwarf reblooming perennial, Honey Dijon Verbascum (Verbascum ‘Honey Dijon’). Also known as Honey Dijon "Mullein," large, peach and gold colored blooms, with plum eyes, cover numerous spikes protruding above the compact, yet lovely, green foliage.
Reaching a height of just 15 inches, the Sugar Plum packs a big punch in a small package. The peach and gold shaded flowers emerge early in the season, and while each individual flower does not last a long time, the numerous flowers it produces continue its fresh bloom appearance over a long period.
The bloom period can be prolonged all the way to the end of summer by deadheading the spent flowers, before they set seed.
Verbascum Honey Dijon prefers full sun and well-drained soils for best results. It's frost and drought tolerant once established.
Pollinators like hummingbirds, butterflies, and beneficial pollinators will flock to your Honey Dijon Verbascum, just like your plant-loving neighbors will do when they see the blooms! Deer generally do not bother with the plant.
The Honey Dijon Verbascum is perfect for small gardens or sunny borders. Try them in containers around your patio, or even in your gravel or rock garden. They make lovely cut flowers for a home bouquet!
If you're looking for a petite, reblooming perennial, with gorgeous blooms, give the Verbascum Honey Dijon a try today!
