- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 4-8
Wonderfully cold hardy Robert Grimm Dwarf Culinary Sage (Salvia officinalis 'Robert Grimm') makes an exceptionally savory addition to Victory Gardens. This perennial is more than pretty enough to use anywhere you want brilliant blue flowers!
The fragrant textured, bumpy foliage is a beautifully textured silvery gray-green. Harvest your Culinary Sage leaves to dry or use fresh, for rustic stews and incredible Thanksgiving stuffing! You'll transform the flavor of meat and stew with this kitchen-standard herb! The flowers and foliage even look pretty when used as garnish, in drinks, or decorating freshly baked rolls.
Harvest leaves as you need them to use fresh or dry for rubs or seasoning. Culinary Sage can be infused into olive oil, butter, honey, and herbal vinegar to add rich flavor. Use it in homemade soaps, candles, and lotions for clarity, and clearing, and as an excellent, earthy base note for floral and citrus top note scents. Not to mention the many medical preparations that Sage is renowned for!
Spikes of beautiful blue blooms rise above the mounded foliage for a showy display and hungry bees and butterflies. Allow the flower spikes to dry on your plant so that songbirds can eat the seeds. That’s if you can resist popping a few into pretty bouquets! (Don't forget to add some of its greenery to your vases too!).
Hardy perennials in USDA planting zones 4 to 8, cooler and hotter climates can enjoy these as fast-growing annuals in pots and planters. Sage can be an evergreen shrub in frost-free growing zones and Mediterranean climates.
Planting and Application:
Besides the obvious uses as a Kitchen Garden Herb, Knot Garden hedge, or mixed into your Victory Garden, Robert Grimm is a compact, low-growing cultivar that spreads to fill a generous area! Try it as a hard-working, dual-purpose decorative edging that will delight you year after year!
Line the edge of your walkways with these aromatic, sun-loving herbs with a long row or drift planting. Space them 18 inches apart and you'll have a lavish, cool-toned herbal hedge that is both rugged and attractive. Their Mediterranean roots make these ideal for xeric gardens like Rock Gardens and along sunny pathways! Mix them into your Edible Landscaping and make the neighbors crane their necks as you nibble on your ornamentals!
Butterflies and beneficial pollinators adore Robert Grimm Dwarf Culinary Sage, too! But deer tend to avoid them; use several of them as a living repellent around landscape shrubs. By adding them to your Veggie Garden, you'll chase away pests, while attracting bees and other beneficial insects to help pollinate your produce!
The aromatic scent is a great addition to your Sensory Garden, and the silvery green leaves look great in Moon Gardens. Urban gardeners can easily add this redolent herbaceous perennial to their sunny porches, patios, balcony planters, and back deck gardens! Simply keep a plant in a tall container with good drainage on your sun-soaked balcony or deck.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Robert Grimm Dwarf Sage does best in full sun or very light shade with at least four hours of sunlight a day … The more sun, the better! Give it well-drained soil, or create a raised bed to improve drainage as needed. Plant with the symbiotic support of Nature Hills Root Booster into the planting hole and backfill with good topsoil. It helps the tiny feeder roots over their entire life.
Plus a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch helps especially parched bare ground by holding in moisture, insulating the roots, and holding back the weed competition. Provide a moderate amount of water on a consistent schedule for best results. You can pinch back your plants to keep them smaller. Prune to just above where the stems grow wood in early spring or after the flowers are done, remove a few of the thickest stems to rejuvenate older Sage as needed.
- Easy to Care For In Full Sun
- Any Soil Type With Good Drainage
- Moderate Moisture Needs - Low Once Established
- Appreciates Spring Fertilizer & Mulched Beds
- Prune Back Mounds Late Winter or Very Early Spring
