Poppy plants love full sun and can handle partial sun and afternoon shade, especially in the warmer of its favored growing zones. Preferring well-drained moist to slightly drier soils without being picky on soil type. Provide a layer of Arborist mulch to hold in moisture and keep roots cool. You can deadhead to keep the seeds from self-seeding and clean up the mound.
