Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age

Growing Zones 4-9
A great golden Juniper that handles tough conditions and seaside gardens, the Golden Pfitzer Juniper Bush (Juniperus x pfitzeriana 'Aurea') is a fast-growing evergreen! Both Golden Pfitzer's slightly drooping branches old-growth foliage and new growth are bright gold, giving the plant its common name.
Golden Pfitzer grows to a nice 4-5 feet in height but spreads up to 6-8 feet wide! One plant will cover some serious ground as its branches from one low central point, with scaly, red-brown bark. The foliage is pungent when crushed and finely textured.
Grey berries are inconspicuous on female shrubs, less than 1/4 inch, and do not pose a litter problem but birds will seek them out for some winter nourishment. But most of these shrubs are male so there are usually no cones.
Pest and disease-free, Golden Pfitzer grows throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 9, these fast-growing golden evergreen shrubs shine throughout the entire year, staying golden green spring, summer, autumn, and winter!
Landscape Application:

As a colorful year-round accent, hedge, or low-maintenance foundation planting, you'll gain screening and motion when you include this gilded Juniper in your landscape plan!
Great as year-round backdrops and living fences, these golden Junipers light up your landscape and provide contrast when included in a mixed shrub border!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Grows best in full sun, but will tolerate some shade. Golden Pfitzer grows best in well-drained soils, and regular water during their first year in the ground, but once established, Junipers are low-water usage plants! Thriving in some tricky sites like gravel or rocky soil, thin or poor soil locations, and tolerating coastal sites. In spring, prune back any wayward branches if needed.
- Full Sun Shrubs
- Must Have Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
- Prune In Spring If Needed
- Handles Tough Sites, Shrugs Off Deer & Urban Pollution
