Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

The big swirls of the Luna™ Pink Swirl Hibiscus (Hibiscus 'Luna Pink Swirl') is a compact variety with a very full and bushy habit. Bring a touch of the tropics home with this new color in the Luna series of Hardy Hibiscus!
The Luna™ series produces big, bushy, well-branched plants without pinching. Enjoy dozens of huge blooms from mid-summer until frost! The flower petals are pink on one side and fade to light creamy pink on the other side - giving the flowers a swirled look. Dark, cranberry-red centers add to the beauty of these dazzling flowers!
These plants will die back to ground level during the winter months. Be careful to not over-water until plants show signs of growth! Hibiscus needs little care once established and grows into compact bunches quickly with ease! Widely adaptable throughout an incredible range of cold and hot climates, these are versatile plants with huge tropical blooms.
Planting and Application:
Suitable for very large containers, but pots must be protected over winter. Although the Hibiscus grows tall, the need for staking is rare. These are compact plants, ideal for low hedges and screening, property definition, and of course, lush color!
It attracts butterflies and Luna™ Hibiscus has the largest flowers of any perennial! Plant in cottage gardens, pollinator borders, and urban courtyard gardens! Pot up in a planter or large container that's protected from winter cold in the lower growing zones 4 through 9.
- Large Light Pink & Dark Eyes
- Highlighted Swirls On Extra Large Blooms
- Low-Maintenance - No Staking Necessary
- Attracts Butterflies
- Lush Compact Green Foliage
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Hardy Hibiscus grows well in any fertile, well-drained soil with ample moisture. Do not allow it to dry to the wilting point, especially in containers and planters. Be patient, Hibiscus can be slow to emerge in spring, and be careful not to overwater until they begin growing. For best performance, plant in full sun in moist soil, before the heat of the summer. Prune back the stems in the early spring before new growth emerges.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Widely Adaptable to Soil & Climate
- Moderate Moisture
- Prune Off Dead Shoots in Late Autumn
- Deer Resistant
