They will thrive even more in moderately fertile soil. Water this plant regularly because you don't want the sun drying this plant out too much but avoid overhead watering, too.

Provide good air circulation to avoid powdery mildew. This shouldn't be an issue, though, as this kind of Garden Phlox is known for being disease-resistant and has good mildew resistance.
