Abracadabra! Deep pink and bright white pompoms, the Magic Star Double Oriental Lily (Lilium 'Magic Star') is a dramatically full bloom with a triple layer of striped, two-tone petals! Creating an extravagant display in your summer landscape and floral arrangements every year! Each backward curving petal has darker pink freckles for an extra fancy touch!

Magic Star Lily looks like an over the top version of the classic Stargazer, and smells like one too! Just a couple of these enormous flowers fill a vase and perfume the entire room, and the entire garden in the sun! The strap-like green leaves and very tall 36 inch high stems have multiple buds each. But the space-saving clumps only spread 6-8 inches wide for easy inclusion of this garden focal point!

This large flowering ornamental is a perennial bulb, technically a scale bulb, and each baby scale that forms around the main bulb can become new plants! Giving you groupings that very gradually expand in size over time! These spring-planted bulbs are cold hardy throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 8.

Landscape Application:

The amazingly full blooms of Magic Star Lily and their long-lasting prolific blooms are a fascinating and elegant addition to your Lily collection, your summer beds and borders, and as tall dramatic components of a mixed Perennial border. A must-have for the Pollinator Garden, any self-respecting Cutting Garden and English Cottage Border needs these incredibly magic blooms!

Magic Star Lily casts a spell on your sun garden but looks even more alluring in large planters and mixed porch pots as a tall thriller that will command all the attention during the summer! Balcony and patio planters gain showy seasonal blooms and fragrance and your back deck seating areas gain a perfumed addition that is a sure-fire conversation starter!

These large, dramatic blooms have a satiny sheen and just glow in the sun! These ruffled pompom-like double blooms are held high on strong stems, returning year after year! The butterflies will flock to your garden! Magic Star will effortlessly be the centerpiece of your garden, but groupings will increase their appeal, and especially when planted in masses!

  • Huge Backward Curving Double Layer Of Petals
  • White & Pink Striped With Dark Pink Freckles
  • Fragrant & Perfect For Floral Design
  • Long Bloom Time - Calls Pollinators All Summer
  • Award-Winning Garden Specimens, Tall Focal Points & Container Thrillers

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Lilium orientalis bulbs grow the biggest, the best, and the tallest in the full sun, preferring morning sun and requiring a touch of afternoon part shade in the hotter climates. Allow at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day for optimum results.

Plant Oriental Lily bulbs up to 12 inches deep in the ground, in well-drained but moist soil with average fertility. Not particular on soil type, any well-drained medium that has a good amount of humus and organic material added will help hold the moisture that these bulbs enjoy.

Water well while plants are young and consistently during the heat of summer to have the best blooms and the longest bloom time. Once established, they will only need supplemental watering throughout the summer's heat and in times of prolonged drought.

Apply a deep layer of mulch over the soil's surface to ensure moisture consistency and to also insulate the root system from both heat and cold. In some locations, you will need to stake your Lily stems to help them not get blown over when in full bloom or in windy locations.

If you live in cooler climates of zones 1-3, you can still enjoy these outstanding flowers! Simply treat Oriental Lilies as you would Dahlias or Canna Bulbs and dig them up in the fall and store them in a garage or shed for the winter. Gardeners in zones and 9 and up, store in cool storage (like a refrigerator) to mimic a chill period.

Deadhead as soon as the flowers have faded, but keep your foliage until after frost to make food for the bulb, then cut back in autumn. Otherwise, these are a carefree and easy-to-grow species of Lily! Every 3-5 years, you can divide the bulb clumps and spread the joy throughout your landscape.

  • Full Sun Is Best (Afternoon Shade In Hot Climates)
  • Well-Drained Moderately Moist Soil
  • Perennial Bulb - Plant In Spring 12-Inches Deep
  • Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Back After Frost
  • May Need Staked In Windy Locations & To Support The Heavy Blooms
