Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Chocolate Mint (Mentha piperita 'Chocolate') is a wonderfully aromatic Herb that you need for your garden! Are regular Mints too strong? Chocolate Mint has a wonderful chocolate flavor mixed with Mint for a peppermint patty flavor to your recipes, drinks, and garden enjoyments!

The semi-gloss leaves with lovely tiny toothy margins and dark burgundy red stems. The purple blooms that pollinators adore! These vigorous-growing Herbs add loads of flavor and scent to your indoor and outdoor container gardens. Sometimes Mint is a bit too well, so planting in a confined space and containers to keep them from jumping borders.

Chocolate Mint makes the best sun tea you've ever had, muddle the leaves for Mojitos, bake Mint into your favorite dishes, make tasty sauces, or sprinkle the flowers and leaves into your salads. Perennials throughout USDA zones 3 through 9, Mints are fast-growing enough for use as annuals, so even if you don't bring them in for the winter, you'll still have lots of flavorful fresh or dried Mint for all your needs.

Planting and Application:

Plant Mints in containers and planters on your porch or patio as a filler and spiller, happily mingling with the other perennials, Herbs, or annual plants in the sun. Plant in pots around your barbecue or outdoor bar for drink garnish or Mojitos right there in the backyard! Versatile for use as edible landscaping and indoor and outdoor décor, Mints are fast growing and provide you with loads of fresh branches for all your recipe and drink needs!

Chocolate Mint sprawls and grows fast and low as groundcover and spills over garden edges. Herb gardens, Kitchen gardens, Vegetable gardens, or a Sensory Garden! You'll love having them growing around your outdoor entertaining and seating areas to easily have fresh Mint within arms reach!

  • Bright Green Textured Foliage
  • Dark Burgundy Stems
  • Vigorous Growth
  • Very Easy to Grow!
  • Containers Indoors & Out, Edging, Borders, Herb & Kitchen Gardens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Herbs are easy-care annual or perennial accents! They just require full sun outdoors, or bright indirect light when indoors. Plant Mint in a location that has well-drained soil and water regularly until established, just don't overwater them. Provide an enriched site with good drainage (especially container plants!) and mulch to keep the roots cool.

Just ensure you monitor their growth so they don't get into trouble. Plant a large pot or a collar (sticking 2-inches out of the ground) and plunk your Mint into the middle and fill in with a layer of mulch over the surface. Stake up longer branches or keep your Mojito pinched back into a tight mound to prevent the branches from falling over and rooting anywhere they touch the ground. That's where the mulch comes into play - making it very easy to pull any strays out.

  • Full Sun or Bright Indoor Light
  • Enriched Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate But Regular Moisture
  • Pinch Back to Encourage Branching
  • Great Perennial in Mild Winter Climates

Flavorful and aromatic, fast-growing Chocolate Mint Herb Plants will enliven your recipes, drinks, home and garden with their easy-going nature. Order yours today at NatureHills.com today!
