Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Spicy sweet red foliage, the Carnival™ Cinnamon Stick Coral Bells (Heuchera Carnival 'Cinamon Stick') will add fiery brilliance to the shade garden with its cinnamon to burgundy foliage with a grey to silvery overlay, and darling little airy blooms! Each textured leaf has lovely margins and prominent reddish-brown veins.

Cinnamon Stick foliage deepens in color to greyed-green with prominent green venation as the season progresses! Sometimes ever'green' in warm climates and mild winters, the color holds true for your enjoyment! The dainty white and reddish-purple flowers on their slender stems look like tiny fairy bells that attract their own following of hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies! You'll love adding their delicate beauty to floral arrangements too!

Also known as Alumroot, the Carnival™ series of Coral Bells holds its color throughout the summer heat and humidity without fading, holding its color right until frost as long as it is in the shade. Cinnamon Stick Coral Bells are heat resistant and thrive throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 9 and can grow into a mounded ball 10-12 inches tall when in bloom and spread 12-15 wide.

Planting and Application:

Cinnamon Stick takes the spotlight in the shade garden and provides three seasons of color, sometimes four in warmer climates! Never one to hide, this specimen plant adds depth of color to the shade and lights up the garden border as both the front and middle of the border color. Smaller gardens can use these as a backdrop plant, or to soften the foot of a fence or rock wall! Plus, pollinator gardens and cut flower borders are ideal locations for these blooming ornamentals!

Coral Bells spread enough to be vibrant groundcovers, or accents in Rock Gardens, and as focal points in groupings. Even containers and planters gain from these vivid foliage spillers and fillers! Their mounded, low-growing form is ideal as facer shrubs and edging along paths and walkways. Line shady walkways and driveways for a dramatic row of color. The fiery coppery red looks fantastic with yellow, green, purple, and red foliage plants and flowers!

  • Cinnamon Red Foliage Top & Bottom Ages Deep Green
  • No Fade Color & Prominent Veins
  • Mounding Spreading Perennial
  • Pinkish-White Bell-Shaped Flowers & Slender Red Stems
  • Pollinator Friendly
  • Gorgeous Groundcover, En Masse, Containers & Specimen

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Coral Bells need regular watering, especially in the southern climates and during summer. Adaptable to occasionally wet conditions, they're best in moderately moist, very well-drained soils. Plant Coral Bells in cooler growing zones thrive in more sun and a bit less moisture. They can tolerate some morning sun and partial shade, but in hotter climates, it is best to plant these in full shade to prevent leaf burn. Withstanding heat and humidity, pest resistant, typically ignored by Deer and rabbits, as well as disease free - not much can phase this plant! Preferring rich soils that have a good amount of organic matter, fertilize in early spring when new growth begins to emerge.

Low-maintenance, just shear back when dormant for a clean winter look. If desired, divide clumps in fall to prevent overcrowding. Mulch provides insulation from heat and chill and holds moisture in the soil more consistently. For the best growth, it's recommended to divide the clumps every few years, in the spring.

  • Morning Sun, Part Shade, or Full Shade in Hot Zones
  • Herbaceous Perennials Needs Moisture & Well-Drained Soil
  • Prune Mounds In Late Fall
  • Semi-Evergreen in Warm Climates
  • Heat & Humidity Tolerant

Sugar and spice, and all things nice, the Carnival™ series Cinnamon Stick Coral Bells adds all things nice to your landscape without demanding much from you in return! Add this gorgeous specimen to your garden today with the help of Nature Hills!
