Butterfly Bushes are grown in full sun and average, well-drained soil conditions. While Buddleia are low-water usage but do appreciate supplemental moisture during drought and the summer months to keep the flowers returning until frost. Provide a 3-4 inch deep layer of arborist mulch to support your shrub's root system to hold moisture consistently and insulate the roots. These low-maintenance shrubs are generally deer and pest-free.

White Profusion is a deciduous bush in warm climates, but in colder climates, Buddleia can die back to the ground each fall like a perennial, but quickly regrows to full height each summer. Prune in the early spring before new growth emerges to trim to tidy up the bushes or cut them back near to the ground. Either way, these fast growers will return to full size each growing season!
