The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age

Growing Zones 6 - 10
Radiata Lycoris, also known as the Red Spider Lily (Lycoris 'Radiata') is an Amaryllis family relative with dramatic red petals that curl, twist and spiral into round clusters of multiple flowers atop tall slender stems! Each flower features a matching red spray of sweeping stamen for a spidery-whimsical effect! Plus they're wonderfully fragrant!
With a sprawling fountain of strappy long leaves in luscious green, the flowers typically bloom after heavy rains in the fall, earning them the nicknames Hurricane Lily and Resurrection Lily! These perennial bulbs flower towards the end of summer to early autumn for a dramatic and tropical burst of color when your garden least expects it!
Earning the names Magic Lily, Surprise Lily and Naked Lady Lily for the curious way the foliage shows up in the spring or late autumn (depending on your growing zone and time of planting) and then seems to vanish, leaving the blooms to appear suddenly - Bam! Dramatic red flowers appear, seemingly alone and out of the blue much later in the growing season!
Planting and Application:
Spider Lily Lycoris can't help but show off! Their unexpected sudden presence in the landscape and their whimsical form attract all the attention when they are in full bloom! Plant rows, regularly spaced groupings, or drifts throughout your landscape beds and borders so they can surprise you with exotic color and provide plenty of blooms to choose from for dramatic indoor bouquet thrillers!
In frost-free growing zones, you can grow these perennial bulbs in protected planters and large containers for a wild thriller or unique formal container garden! No matter where you plant them, get ready for bees, butterflies and Hummingbirds to be drawn in, along with several curious neighbors, drawn in by the Spider Lily's enchanting beauty and fragrance!
Want to go way over the top? Line either side of a pathway or your driveway with a tall border garden full of formally-spaced Lycoris, mixed among Alliums, Gladiolias, Asiatic and Oriental Lilies, and Crocosmia for an architectural vertical-flowering display!
Or you can surround your seating areas and poolside plantings with a mix of Lycoris Lilies mixed with Elephant Ears, Banana Plants, Canna Lily, Caladium, and Crown Imperial Fritillaria for an exotic getaway!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5-10, and considered hardy perennial bulbs zones 7 and up. Spider Lily Lycoris flowering stems can reach up to 18 inches tall. Fast-growing and loving full sun for the best flowering and bulb health, plant Lycoris bulbs in very well-drained, enriched soil with moderate regular moisture availability. They love mulched beds but also drying out a bit between waterings.
Once the flower heads fade, go ahead and deadhead them to the ground. Once the foliage yellows later in the growing season, trim it back and remove it from the area. Because of this perennial bulb's unique lifecycle, place a marker in your soil so you know where to expect the foliage and flowers throughout the season. Give these bulbs extra protection in the winter with an extra layer of mulch and/or compost over their planting area for insulation. In marginal areas of USDA zone 6 and lower, you can lift the bulbs before winter (just like Canna Lily or Dahlia) and store in an area that won't freeze.
- Full Sun Location
- Must Have A Well-Drained Area
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Foliage Away Once Yellow
