Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Dark and mysterious, the Queen of Night Tulip (Tulipa 'Queen of Night') adds depth and drama to your garden beds, container plantings, and indoor décor with its velvety deep, dark purple blossoms! You'll want to sit and take in these enchanting blooms for hours once they bloom in your garden. Your pollinators will certainly fall under their spell!

These impressive fragrant blossoms make for lovely cut flowers. You'd be hard-pressed to find a flower bouquet with as exquisite coloring as this gorgeous spring ephemeral! This unexpected dark color in the spring seems to contrast with the other bright colors of the season.

Queen of Night Tulip is a hardy fall-planted bulb with upright bell-shaped blooms, that flower throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 7 and grows to a graceful clump about 24 inches tall and nearly as wide. Fast-growing and loving the full sun, these lovely Tulips radiate each spring!

Planting and Application:

This Tulip is a wonderful choice for forcing indoors in the winter or very early spring! Pick up a fancy cloche, shallow dish of moss, or a special forcing vase to enjoy these blooms in the winter to break up the dreary indoor landscape! Wonderful gift plants and opulent vase arrangement additions, Queen of the Night adds its regal color to your interiorscapes.

Tulips are lovely container additions that light up other spring ephemerals or annual blossoms. Or plant them in groupings to maximize their glorious blooms. Queen of Night Tulips have lovely foliage that looks great among other bulbs and as edging along garden beds and borders. Add interest to Perennial gardens and add drama to Cottage gardens in grace while forming tidy clumps and drifts of elegant color that feed the bees and butterflies.

  • Sculpted Apricot Blooms
  • Vase-Shaped Clumps of Soft Green Foliage
  • Scented Cut Flowers & Pollinator-Friendly
  • Perennial Flowering Bulbs
  • Beds & Borders, Edging, Groupings & Indoor Forcing

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Bulbs require full sun and well-drained soil. Appreciating afternoon shade in warmer hardiness zones where the sun is intense. Any soil type is suitable so long as it is not soggy. Plant in the soil with pointed ends up 3 times as deep as the bulbs are tall. Add bulb fertilizer to each hole for best results. Provide moderate moisture during drought and deadhead after flowers fade. But keep the leaves so they can make food for the bulb and next year's flowers! Not only is it strong, but it also has incredible endurance. Its blooms endure through spring showers and days of sunshine. Fall-planted bulbs need well-drained soil with moderate moisture needs.

  • Full Sun For Strongest Growth
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Mounds After Leaves Yellow
  • Deer Seldom Bother Them

Dark and evocative, the Queen of the Night Tulip will add its mysterious color to your landscape each spring! Order yours today at Nature Hills and we'll ship your quality bulbs to you at the proper planting time for your growing zone!
