This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones
Gorgeous Purple Smokebush (Cotinus coggygria 'Purpureus') is an incredible and colorful shrub with dramatically reddish-purple new ovular leaves that are leathery and age to green with purplish overcast for the rest of the growing season. The Smokebush foliage might be remarkable, and so are its summer blooms! The smoke in Smokebush comes from the puffs of flowering stems that can be filled in inconspicuous yellow blooms covered in pinkish hairs.
The clouds of dainty flower puffs reach upward and outward in plumes of smoke-like clusters. These delightful flowering stems are smokey reddish-purple with hints of pink and violet, these wonderful puffs have a pleasant floral scent that will greet you when you arrive home or wake up in the morning to step out for your morning paper. Your pollinators will seek out these tiny blooms and provide you with an additional show!
Fast-growing Purple Smokebushes are wonderfully hardy throughout USDA hardiness zones 5 through 8 and grow 10-15 feet in height and 10-12 feet in width. The May to June blooms remain on the shrub for the rest of the growing season and occasionally produce seeds the birds love.
Planting and Application:
This shrub makes a fantastic specimen near your front entry or beside your property line. The deep purples and reds of the Purple Smoke Tree also make it a great plant as a privacy screen along the roadside or fence line. The reddish-purple of Smokebushes pair well with bright greens and yellows flowers and foliage plants alike! You'll create fantastically colored hedges and interest in your gardens as vivid backdrops and focal points!
Purple Smokebush may be a shrub, but you can train them into multi-stemmed tree forms! Creating a very unique and colorful specimen both in the ground and in insulated containers anywhere sunny. Adding a curious accent and conversation piece to your seating areas, porches, and patios, or even balconies to provide shade and interest all growing season. Pair with the larger Cooke's Purple™ Smokebush for varied heights in the garden.
