Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

How to Use GreatMyrtle™ Cotton Candy Dwarf Crape Myrtle Shrub in the Landscape

Create a fantasy patio or balcony with a beautiful backdrop of Cotton Candy. They'll thrive in the ground in Zones 6 - 9 as a low hedge or mass planting in an open, sunny area. The possibilities are nearly endless! Place one in a patio container, or use a pair flanking on either side of your front doorway. No one will miss the turn into your driveway either!

Imagine how lively your space will become with oodles of confectionary-colored blooms. And everything is blissfully easy-care! Imagine the curb appeal with a row of these brightening your front steps or enlivening your home's foundation evergreen!

Plant them 18 inches apart to create a solid hedge. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next. Add additional rows to create a gorgeous mass planting. Stagger each row in a zigzagging pattern for the fastest fill.

Have an existing stand of older, larger Crape Myrtles that are looking a little bare at the base? Add a row of GreatMyrtles™ as facer shrubs and add double the color and depth, while hiding those leggy stems!

Of course, GreatMyrtles™ also become spectacular Thriller shrubs for containers. Cotton Candy only looks tender - it's really a tough, reliably hardy plant suited as far north as Zone 5b. Pale pink works with so many other bloom colors. Enjoy the process of selecting a Filler and Spiller from NatureHills.com.

Bring your ideas to blooming life and enjoy your summertime! Go ahead and be dazzled by this special small shrub.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Give Cotton Candy at least six hours of direct sunlight a day for the best blooms. Please also ensure that the soil is well-drained. For the best results, water Cotton Candy plants on a regular schedule. Add a 3-4 inch layer of mulch over the root zone, but please pull it away from touching the stems directly.

Create a raised planting bed, If you have heavy soil. This will help improve the drainage, as Crape Myrtles resent having wet feet. Have impossible clay soil you can't work around - plant your GreatMyrtle™ in a fancy pot and enjoy them anywhere!

Include Nature Hills Root Booster during planting. Valuable symbiotic ingredients provide life-long benefits for the tiny feeder roots.

Zone 5b and 6

Cotton Candy Dwarf Crape Myrtle shrubs are root-hardy in cold winter areas of 5b and 6. In early spring, simply cut all of the stems down to the ground.

This darling shrub bounces right back, with new growth from the roots. You'll enjoy flowers from late spring through frost.

Zones 7 - 9

Every few years, prune out several of the oldest, thickest stems in early spring. This helps reduce the size, cleans up dead branches, and allows the younger stems to produce the best bloom.
