Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you crossed a Plum and a Cherry? While it may have never crossed your mind, luckily, it did occur to one of the most famous and successful plant scientists - Floyd Zaiger! After inventing the Pluot, Zaiger went on to create the Candy Heart Pluerry™ Interspecific Plum (Prunus salicina x Prunus cerasifera 'Candy Heart')!

A fantastic hybrid between a Japanese Plum and a sweet Cherry, that forms heart-shaped candy-sweet fruit! Close your eyes and imagine biting into a Cherry and then a Plum - that same combination of flavors, textures and colors gives you the sweet and complex flavor of a Pluerry!

This incredible fruit features skin that’s dark speckled red-purple. The amber-red flesh is slightly tart but very sweet. Cut one in half and you'll immediately understand why it's called a ‘Candy Heart’. The mouth-watering flesh is deep-red with golden-yellow highlights and is as sweet as candy! Plus, when sliced in half, it forms an adorable heart shape!

This remarkable tree is a smaller stone fruit that produces an astounding amount of Pluerries! Slightly smaller than a golf ball, they are the perfect size to pop in your mouth fresh, preserve into jams or jellies, or bake into pies. Containing a small pit that's more like a Cherry pit than a Plum, these are a taste test-proven treat for fruit lovers!

Reaching peak ripeness around mid-August to September, Candy Heart offers an extended hang time meaning there’s no rush for you to harvest, so it’s also very convenient for the busy gardener!
