Pretty pink flower-like sepals and white trumpet-shaped blooms, the scented Rose Creek Abelia, (Abelia x chinensis 'Rose Creek'), is a decorative, broadleaf evergreen shrub. Your Rose Creek Abelia will astound you right from the start!
New foliage in early spring emerges with a delightfully pink tint that soon transitions to a vibrant green. The contrast against the red stems is amazing, drawing the eye to the glossy, broadleaf evergreen foliage. As spring merges into summer, 1/2-inch-long tubular flowers appear.
Blooms emerge from mauvy-pink sepals that look like stars! Each bloom emerges pure white and gives the shrub a lovely two-tone effect. As if that isn't enough, these darling flowers are fragrant too!
Butterflies and Hummingbirds are particularly fond of Rose Creek Abelia's blossoms and will veritably flock to its impressive display!
As if this remarkable parade of decorative color and form weren't enough, your Rose Creek Abelia will continue its ornamental show in autumn when its evergreen foliage takes on a soft, purple hue for the cold winter months. Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 6 to 9, these 2-3 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide shrubs.
Landscape Application:
Rose Creek Abelia is a beloved shrub among gardeners in warmer growing zones! This popular variety is the most compact of the choices available, so you can fit one in just about anywhere. The mounding, gracefully arching stems provide a clean and ornamental appearance year-round!
Plant these along your walkway for a gorgeous, low-growing hedge for screening. Their broadleaf evergreen presence in your garden beds and as a wonderful foundation plant will provide four seasons of interest.
That four-season look really shines as much as the foliage does when planted en mass and long rows. The curb appeal of these beauties is truly breathtaking, fitting into both formal and informal settings with ease!
Rose Creek Abelia's dark green leaves look wonderful as a specimen plant and have a colorful accent. Place a few in containers on your patio for a warm welcome to guests, or even plant just one as a lovely accent that stays green in winter, for your Rock Gardens, perennial beds and borders, and Cottage gardens.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Easy to grow, Rose Creek Abelia does best in full sun and even part shade without losing its colorful presence in the landscape. Abelia is adaptable to a variety of well-draining soils and very easy to care for. Thriving best in slightly acidic soils, these shrubs have low watering needs once established. Water well through their first year as they established and after that Rose Creek is pretty tough!
Apply a three-inch layer of mulch over the root system, but pull it back six inches from the stems, and reapply as needed. It doesn't need much pruning to maintain its naturally lovely form, but trimming spent blossoms will certainly encourage a more prolific, floral show. Prune in late winter is best if needed. Rose Creek Abelia is drought-hardy once established, and even your deer will tend to pass it by.
