Happy Camper!

Very healthy, packaged well, shipped promptly. First time buyer with NatureHills.com. Will buy again.

Welcome to the Nature Hills family, Robert. It's great to hear the vine arrived in good shape and ready to get in the ground. Canadice is a reliable producer once it gets established, so give it a season to settle its roots and you should be rewarded with a solid harvest. We look forward to your next order.

Happy Camper!

I have been ordering fruit trees online for years. First time with Nature Hills. com. I just received my canadice red seedless grape plant today. It was very healthy, packaged well, and delivered promptly. Very happy with my purchase!

Glad the Canadice arrived in good shape, Robert. Packaging bare-root vines for shipping takes some care, and it's good to know it held up well in transit. Give it a sunny spot with solid support and it should reward you with clusters of those sweet red grapes for many seasons. Welcome to the Nature Hills family, and thanks for giving us a try.

So far so good

So far so good. Just planted last week and they are starting to bloom. They are infants so it’s hard to give them a ‘5’ yet…

Starting to bloom right after planting is a great sign, Lisa. Young grape vines put a lot of energy into root establishment in that first season, so if you see flower clusters forming, just pinch them off this year and let the plant focus on getting established. You'll be rewarded with much stronger growth and better fruit production down the road. Thanks for sharing the early update, we hope they keep surprising you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Canadice Seedless Grape Vine hardy in zone 4, like in NW Iowa?

  • Yes, Canadice Grape Vine thrives in zone 4 and is cold hardy down to zone 3. This winter-hardy variety handles some of the coldest winters and comes back strong each spring. Plant in full sun with good air circulation for best fruit production.

What is the mature size (height and spread) of the Canadice Seedless Grape Vine?

  • Canadice grape vines typically reach 15-20 feet in length with a 6-8 foot spread when mature. These vigorous growers adapt well to various training systems including arbors, fences, and trellises. Plan your support structure accordingly and shop quality vines at naturehills.com.

How much fruit yield can I expect at maturity from one Canadice vine?

  • A mature Canadice vine typically produces 10-15 pounds of grapes per season. These compact clusters ripen in late summer, about two weeks earlier than Concord varieties. For best yields, ensure full sun exposure and good air circulation around your vine.

Is the Canadice Seedless Grape Vine self-pollinating, or do I need more than one plant?

  • The Canadice grape vine is self-pollinating and will produce fruit on its own. However, planting multiple vines can increase your overall harvest yield. For best production in zones 3-8, ensure good air circulation between plants if growing multiples.

How much sunlight does the Canadice Seedless Grape Vine need?

  • The Canadice Seedless Grape Vine requires full sun for optimal growth and fruit production. Better sun exposure leads to improved air circulation and higher quality harvests. Plant in the sunniest spot available at naturehills.com for best results.

What are the watering and care requirements for the first year after planting?

  • Water regularly the first year to establish roots, then this hardy vine becomes quite drought tolerant. Ensure good drainage and full sun for best results. Once established, Canadice grapes have low water needs and thrive in zones 3-8 with minimal care.

When and how should I prune the Canadice Seedless Grape Vine?

  • Prune Canadice grape vines in late winter while dormant, before buds break. Remove dead, diseased, and weak canes, keeping the strongest 1-year-old wood for fruit production. Cut back lateral shoots to 2-3 buds and maintain good airflow for better harvest.

Can Canadice Seedless Grape Vines be shipped to my state (e.g., restrictions for NY)?

  • Canadice Seedless Grape Vines can be shipped to most states, though some restrict grape shipments to prevent disease spread. These hardy vines grow in USDA zones 3-8, covering most of the continental US. Check your state's agricultural restrictions or contact your local extension office before ordering.
