Viburnum Shrubs for Sale at Nature Hills Nursery

Viburnum is proven to be a superb shrub family. Their stylish form and attractive foliage makes them a top choice to use for hedging and specimens. You’ll find a wide range of viburnum shrubs for sale at Nature Hills Nursery, where we’ve been helping people grow happy since 2001.

Viburnum Shrubs with White Flowers

Professional landscape designers incorporate Viburnum shrubs in their plans all across the United States. You can count on many years of high-performance and trim and handsome good looks.

The vast Viburnum genus contains over 150 species, and new and improved cultivars are being brought to market regularly. Nature Hills Nursery makes a determined effort to keep up with the demand from our customers.

Elegant Viburnum shrubs also look great through the seasons. Available in both evergreen and deciduous varieties, Viburnum bushes add flowers to your spring garden.

Many cultivars produce berries, with proper pollination. Some Viburnums also deliver fall color to enjoy as your year winds down to a close.

Gardeners love the Viburnum performance and the variety of sizes. But, most of all, they love the colorful — and sometimes fragrant — flowers, fruit and fall foliage colors.

They are adaptable to many zones and climates. Viburnums are tough and very disease resistant.

They may be pruned, shaped, placed in tough sites, and still perform admirably. Viburnums are blissfully easy to care for and maintain.

Viburnums Work Hard in Small Space Gardens

This important family is versatile, and includes tightly compact cultivars. In small yards, add the heavenly fragrance of Spice Baby Koreanspice Viburnum.

Planting Viburnum shrubs is an excellent way to assure you of a beautiful landscape through the growing season. An outstanding smaller shrub for a limited space is Blue Muffin Viburnum.

Large-Scale Viburnums Define Your Landscape

If you have the room for a small tree, try Nannyberry Viburnum. This is a national treasure with multiple seasons of interest.

Nannyberry Viburnum can be kept au naturel as a large, multi-stemmed shrub. Plant a long hedge along your property line for a lot more privacy.

It's also easy to prune up the lower limbs to feature the bare stems as a tree-form. Add this special native tree to anchor your patio planting bed.

Flowering Viburnum Shrubs Support Pollinators

Of course, it's the creamy white blooms of the flowering viburnum shrubs that bring the butterflies. Their nectar must be irresistible. You'll be amazed how popular your shrubs will be.

All Viburnum blooms are clusters of tiny true flowers. However, there are three different cluster shapes.

The first is flat-topped and packed with tiny, star-shaped flowers The second features lace-cap-style panicles. No one could mistake the Chinese Snowball Viburnum with those massive, white flower balls.

Get fragrant yellow blooms with Alleghany Viburnum. Attractive, leathery foliage remains semi-evergreen in warmer growing zones.

Viburnum Hedges Make Excellent Privacy Screens

Both of the following statements are true:

  • Gardens always look bigger if you can't see everything all at once.
  • Busy people do many different things in their yard.

Solve for both by adding garden walls to create a showy screen. Use the lush foliage of Viburnums as task-specific outdoor rooms.

Plant Viburnum shrubs to create garden walls to increase the value of your usable space. Your whole family can live a lot larger on your lot with a series of defined outdoor rooms.

Why not plant a single specimen Viburnum in the yard to create a destination spot? Use the front side as a pretty backdrop for entertaining, and hide your urban chicken coop around the other side.

Let your investment in our high-quality, commercial-grade landscape plants serve you well. Look through our extensive catalog of viburnum bushes for sale, filtering by height, spread and growing zone.

Terrific Viburnum Specimens Add a Welcome Focal Point

One of the most beautiful Viburnums is architectural Maries Doublefile. It's nicknamed the Wedding Cake, and it looks deliciously frothy in the lawn.

Each horizontal branch spreads wide in tiered layers. In spring, a double layer of exquisite lace-cap flowers frost both the top and bottom of every long branch.

Another fun choice for a sunny location is Common Snowball Viburnum. Kids get a bang out of the round flower clusters.

Snip them for a lovely cut flower indoors. Float one or two of the snowball-shaped blooms in a shallow bowl of water for pure perfection in well under a minute.

How to Use Viburnum Shrubs in the Landscape

Viburnum Shrubs

Modern plant design is all about easy privacy. People prefer tidy, manicured shrubs with lots of flowers and brilliant fall colors.

You won't find a more valuable choice than Viburnums — although we may be biased. You'll get the look you want in your screen plantings and shrub borders.

Try one at the corner of your garage to soften the transition. Or use a Forest Rouge Blackhaw Viburnum at the corner of your foundation planting. You won't believe the boldly distinguished fall color.

Viburnum Pollination Partners for Fruiting Varieties

The colorful viburnum berries provide winter interest and lure wildlife with easy nutrition. Birds adore them, but they are not a deer’s favorite food source.

Viburnum needs two or more plants to cross-pollinate the blooms. Pick different members of the same species and keep them close by each other for best results.

Not all Viburnums produce berries, however. Look at the botanical name. Viburnum burkwoodii, carlcephalum and carlesii aren't known for their fruit. But dentatum, cassinoides, lentago and prunifolium certainly deliver a spectacular berry show!

Plant native Arrowwood Viburnum for flowers, berries and stick-straight branches. They have delightfully corrugated foliage, and deliver a crisp, tailored look.

Chicago Lustre Viburnum has truly marvelously glossy leaves. Mass them with the dynamic duo of All That Glitters and All That Glows, two glorious viburnum bushes any yard would be glad to have.

Viburnum Shrubs with Edible Fruit

Boost your food security with our fruiting plants. Yes, certain Viburnum shrubs even offer edible fruit that can be harvested for jellies and jams.

Create a magnificent hedge with the American cranberry bush. Don't forget to include a few small-scale Bailey Compact American Cranberrybush Viburnum nearby to boost pollination for bright berries.

Plant them in full sun or partial shade for the best flowering and fruiting. Give them moderate water on a consistent schedule.

Prune after flowering for most cultivars. Always read the Plant Highlights on each product page for specifics.

Handsome Viburnums can be evergreen and deciduous, fruiting or fruitless, and provide a significant fall color. Buy virburnum any time of the year, and we'll ship them to you when the time is right for planting in your area.

With a history of success that stretches back two decades, you can rest assured you’ll be getting high-quality, healthy viburnum to bring you joy for years to come. Check out the viburnum for sale at Nature Hills Nursery, and place your order today.
