Elms are magnificent, and the latest improvements have made a good thing even better. Perfect oval canopy, uniformly spaced branches that display a charming droop, and a strong central leader - the Bosque® Lacebark Elm Tree PP#11,295 (Ulmus parvifolia 'UPMTF') is basically a supermodel dressed in pretty bark and leaves!

Finely textured, delicately toothed green leaves provide delightful shade, so be sure to plan a comfortable seating area nearby! The strong horizontal branching creates the traditional Elm vase shape once mature.

Featuring an outstanding branch structure that shows off in winter and early spring, you'll love studying the interesting bark once the foliage drops in the winter. It "exfoliates" or peels to showcase multiple layers and a mottled assortment of colors - in brown, gray, and orange - it's just gorgeous! It will really draw your eye on those dreary days when not much else is going on in the landscape.

In fall, you'll have a color display as the leaves turn a warm honey-golden, red, and orange! This rich color is truly a perfect foil for that interesting, textured bark. You'll have a hard time deciding in which season you like this lovely tree the best.

Landscape Application:

This is truly a four-season shade tree. The shade beneath these strong limbs is the perfect place to set up a play structure for the kids or to string up a hammock to stretch out and laze away a summer afternoon and evening. For your front yard, the Bosque® Lacebark Elm is an impressive lawn specimen tree!

Create bird-friendly groves for wildlife as these trees are a boon for songbirds! Loved for use as a street tree, you can bring back the classic Boulevard by planting a row of these as street trees! Plant this Elm as an opulent backdrop to admire from your porch, patio, or deck!

  • Delicate Toothy Green Leaves
  • Perfect Form & Horizontal Branch Structure
  • Gorgeous Exfoliating Mottled Multi-Colored Bark
  • Great Fall Color
  • Wonderful Shade Trees, Street Trees & Front Lawn Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Elm Trees prefer average well-drained soils with full sun but are tolerant of partial shade (when it is young) and urban environments. Elm trees are also drought-resistant once established and do best with an application of 3-4 inches of layer of mulch around the entire root system to support their growth. Prune young trees to correct growth and remove winter dieback in the late winter or very early spring.

  • Full Sun
  • Any Well-Drained Soil Type
  • Moderate Moisture - Drought Tolerant Once Established
  • Prune Late Winter
  • Widely Adaptable & Easy Care

The Bosque® Lacebark Elm Tree is a beautiful, fast-growing tree! Highly adaptable, it will become the perfect tree for your landscape! Now available at Nature Hills Nursery!
