It begins in the spring with brilliant golden-edged foliage that gradually matures to a quieter shade of creamy yellow with mid to light-green centers, to create a brilliant display! The flowers appear in summer through late summer. Shockwave adds a sweet fragrance to the uniquely variegated foliage that stands out boldly.
Shockwave is a stand-alone Tall Garden Phlox with spectacular stems that are covered from the ground up with bright gold and green leaves! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 8, the 12-18 inch tall flowering stems can spread from mounds about 12 inches wide.
Planting and Application:
It is a very nice addition to containers! Adding brilliant color, whether in bloom or not, are showy fillers and thrillers! Plant in sunny patio planters and mixed porch pots!

Garden Phlox does best when planted in a full-to-partial sun area in well-drained soil. These herbaceous perennial Phlox thrive in enriched, moist soil and a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch for best results. Water at the roots and keep your plants evenly moist.
Deadhead after the flowers fade to encourage a rebloom, then prune your Phlox back in late autumn after frost has reduced these herbaceous perennials down for the year. Prune Tall Phlox right after the blossoms fade and tidy up the mounds in late autumn after frost. While no plant is truly deer resistant, they do not prefer the taste of these plants. Every 3-5 years, it's recommended to divide your clumps to maintain vigor and provide you with extra plants to expand your enjoyment.
