Get ready to slow dance with the vivid mini-bouquets of fragrant hot-pink flowers! The JUNIOR™ Dance Tall Garden Phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Junior Dance') has fragrant pink flowers with white centers on a compact free-branching habit.

Blooming all summer long, it is a wonderful addition to any perennial garden, JUNIOR™ Dance attracts Hummingbirds and butterflies and provides a mainstay of fragrant summer flowers. It makes a beautiful cut flower too. It is suggested that the faded flower clusters be removed to encourage continuous blooming.

Held on strong stems that resist flopping, Dance is one of the Tall Garden Phlox JUNIOR™ Series has mildew-resistant lance-shaped mounds of green foliage. It features branching close to the crown and producing shorter, much bushier plants with normal-sized flower heads that are very showy! Spreading 18-22 inches wide when mature and standing at about the same height when in bloom! Wonderfully heat and chill hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9, there's little in the sun garden that fazes Dance Phlox!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

JUNIOR™ Dance needs to be planted in a full-to-part sun area in well-drained soil. Once Phlox are stressed, they will usually develop some degree of mildew, so plant these herbaceous perennial Phlox in a cool, slightly shaded (afternoon shade) location, and provide humus, moist soil and a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch for best results.

Deadhead after the flowers fade to encourage a rebloom. The plants will continue to bloom on the bushy laterals and if the old flowers are deadheaded. Then prune your Phlox back in late autumn after frost has reduced these herbaceous perennials down for the year. Prune Tall Phlox right after the blossoms fade and tidy up the mounds in late autumn after frost. While no plant is truly deer resistant, they do not prefer the taste of these plants. Every 3-5 years, it's recommended to divide your clumps to maintain vigor and provide you with extra plants to expand your enjoyment. If you live in high Deer pressure areas, be sure to use Deer Repellent during planting, guided by the instructions on the label.

  • Full Sun Blooms
  • Adaptive to a Variety of Conditions
  • Regular Moisture & Well-Drained Soil
  • Deadhead After Flowering & Prune Late Autumn
  • Improved Mildew Resistance

You will treasure the fragrant pink blooms of JUNIOR™ Dance Tall Garden Phlox because it will produce a profusion of flowers in your perennial garden all summer long! Make sure you order several at Nature Hills Nursery today!

Phlox Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tall Garden Phlox spread?

Most Garden Phlox do spread some but politely so - not getting into trouble and not jumping their borders. Should the clumps become too large you can easily divide them.

Should your deadhead Tall Garden Phlox?

Deadheading Phlox helps prevent some varieties from self-seeding and encourages a rebloom.

Where is the best place to plant Phlox?

Phlox needs well-drained enriched soil with good air circulation for best results. Mulch their beds and fertilize them each spring.

What happens to Phlox in the winter?

Phlox are herbaceous perennials that will lose their leaves and stems after frost and die back to the ground. In spring, they regrow from their root systems anew!
