Grow your own great-tasting white peaches from a beloved variety. Babcock Peach (Prunus persica 'Veteran') produces sweet, aromatic, juicy peaches in low chill areas.

Prefer a fuzz-less peach? Smooth-skinned Babcock is your variety.

These reliable producers are easy-care and self-pollinating. Babcock scores off the charts in taste tests.

Enjoy the special fruit fresh from your tree, or can them for later use in pies, preserves and other goodies. Their freestone pits pull away cleanly from the flesh for easy preparation.

Beautiful pink flowers bloom in late mid-season, which is a bit later than other low chill varieties. That makes Babcock quite versatile in a wider geographic range, although selections like Veteran Peach are more successful further north.

Since the 1920's, Babcock set the quality standard for white peaches for decades, and is a superb all-around choice for backyard orchards. Enjoy the luscious tree-ripe fruit, still warm from the sun.

How to Use Babcock White Peach in the Landscape

Warm zone landscapes have relied on Babcock White Peach for nearly 100 years. This tree produces beautiful, red-blushed fruit.

Use the creamy white flesh in special recipes. It's firm enough to stand up to canning, but can't be beat as a fresh eating treat. Try it with homemade ice cream! There is nothing better.

Except, of course, peach pie and preserves. Babcock is an all-arounder, and will satisfy all your peach dreams.

Grow a single Babcock Peach if space is at a premium. Or, add additional varieties with early and late harvest seasons to extend your season of tree-ripe fruit.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Plant Babcock Peach trees in full sun, where it will receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Morning sun is best, as the strong rays quickly dry off the foliage from overnight dew.

Babcock Peaches need fertile, well-drained soils. Improve drainage by creating a mounded heap of soil 12 to 18 inches above the soil line and 3 feet out from the trunk, or plant in a raised bed.

Apply mulch over the root system to a depth of 3 inches. Spread it out 3 feet from the outside of the canopy.

These trees are vigorous and produce an abundant fruit set. For best results, thin your crop when the developing fruit is about an inch long. Select one piece of fruit to develop about every 6 inches, so it has enough space to develop.
