Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 6-10
Impeccably crisp, bright white color graces the All-American Rose Selection winner simply called the Honor™ Rose (Rosa 'Jacolite')! When fully open, it's easy to see why the name was selected by watching the buff-colored long, pointed buds open into very large, double blooms with up to 30 petals apiece! This is a "best of the best" Hybrid Tea Rose to fill your landscape with an outstanding flowering display.
Held on long stems, these thick, polished petals start with a hint of carmine and spiral open to age a very pure and white. Borne both singly and in small, dedicated clusters on long stems, rounded Honor™ Roses last a long time as a cut flower in the vase and on the bush! Much to the delight of all your pollinators!
Vigorous, upright Honor™ Rose reaches tall and features large, dark green leaves and bronzy-red new foliage that is very resistant to powdery mildew. Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 6 through 10, Honor™ is a fantastically heat and humidity-resistant Hybrid Tea Rose! Growing to a tidy 4-5 feet in height and 3-4 feet in width, these are wonderfully oval-shaped, dense shrubs that work in large or small landscapes equally!
Planting and Application:
Military families have appreciated the high performance and showy style of these lightly fragrant blooms for decades. Use several Honor™ Roses to create a memorial to those who served in your yard and to show your patriotic spirit. Fantastic for gift plants and memorial plantings of all occasions, you'll make a lasting impression for the cost of a high-end bouquet. The bridal quality blooms create armloads of gleaming bouquet blooms!
Plant them in a curve behind a bench or seating area somewhere sunny. You'll love their charming continuous flowers that bloom in recurring flushes from late spring through fall. Flank either side of your front door with these dynamic blooming accents. You'll gain an easy Cottage Style and have plenty of blooms to use indoors, too! Don't forget to dress up a Moon Garden with these radiant blossoms!
For a high-end, designer style that can last many years, create hardy container gardens with Honor™ Roses used as "Thrillers". Surround them with your favorite groundcover "Spiller" from NatureHills.com and consider creating several matching containers to place in a precise row along your patio, terrace or pool deck.
Pair them with yellow Hybrid Tea Roses for a very meaningful remembrance display of loved ones. Add a surprising element, such as Tuxedo Weigela shrubs, prairie native Black-Eyed Susan or Adam's Needle Yucca to bring in a fun "pop" of personality.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
For the best results, plant Honor™ Rose in full sun where they will receive at least six hours of sunlight a day, favoring morning sun to dry the leaves of dew. Roses also need well-drained soil and good air circulation to stay happy and healthy for years. Easy to grow, simply plant in organically enriched soil. Dig your planting hole twice as wide as the roots, but no deeper. Keep the soil level the same as we have them grown in at the nursery. Rose roots don't tolerate standing water. Don't forget to add a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch.
Hybrid Tea Roses deserve the life-long support of symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster used in the planting hole. If the weather is dry, plan to give them a regular schedule of supplemental water. Feed your blooms a high-quality fertilizer according to the label directions.
In fall, bag and remove all leaf litter. In colder zones, mound up mulch over the remaining canes for overwintering in late November. Always wait to prune Roses until early spring when you pull the mulch away. At that time, prune each of the Rose canes down to 6 - 8 inches at a 45-degree angle just above a nice, fat bud. Growing Hybrid Tea Roses in zones colder than zone 7 should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall after the frost killed the leaves for best overwintering.
